One of the best char kway teow I’ve ever had in Ipoh. Wonderful wok hei on the noodles, plump bean sprouts and good balance of flavours. Make sure to use some extra sambal chilli to amp up the flavours.

The coffee and barley drinks here are top notch as well. The coffee is smooth and strong without tasting burnt, and the barley drink is silky, creamy and full of the fragrance of ginkgo nut. Best drink of the bunch (we had 崩大碗 and another 凉水 too).

The rojak is another hit - great gooey sauce with lots of umami, generous portions of crushed peanuts, and a great kick of spice at the end. Make sure to ask for chilli in the sauce.

The roast meat stall was decent. Worth a try if you that’s what you want to eat on the day, but not special.

Overall, great drinks and good food, and a very comfortable dining experience (as mentioned before).

2025 update: fried kway teow still pretty good but nowhere as mind blowing as before. Horfun is broader and thicker, and the dish is a little oilier...

Came here for the Dry Curry mee . Very Indian taste and not like Chinese style curry . The dry curry serve with chicken floss , Char siew and prawn . Taste rating 7/10 . The chicken rice stall is always long queue so we decided to order one plate of char siew rice . It was superlicious . Fhe char siew is so crunchy and taste sweet and the yellow rice is so fragrant. Sun Heng Kee (新興記 ), Pinji Centerpoint: One of the best restaurants in the region to get your regular Malaysian street food.
