This is famous, obviously, for their crab. It's a comfortable place to dine at but without the bells and whistles, simple and functional but with air con for a comfortable temperature. Even though they are famous for their crab, they do their non crab dishes excellently.
We started with their pork knuckle. It was served with delicious crackling oily skin. The meat was imo a little unevenly cooked, some were perfectly tender and juicy while some areas were a little dry and overcooked. Fortunately good outweighed bad. It also came with fresh salads to reduce the protein taste overload. The steamed fish was perfect. Fresh fish, just the right amount of steaming to get soft slightly firm meat. The sauce is beautifully balanced with soy sauce saltiness and oily sesame seed taste. Superb pairing with the meat.
The Assam prawn had light minimal sauce but coats the prawn adequately. Quite average. The sotong meanwhile was cooked in Thai style with sourness and chilli. It's spicy and it's the slow burn ambush you kind of spiciness. The sotong itself was beautifully cooked to get a soft chewy non rubber consistency. Superb!
The tofu looked simple with a starchy gravy but looks can be deceiving. The softness of the tofu blends remarkably well together. It's a good light dish to have for a contrast to all the heavily flavoured ones. Noodles? I loved the noodles. Good wok hei. Good taste. Incredibly well fried noodle to boot. Excellent carb dish to order.
As for the crab, I must say that it's very fresh. The meat is plentiful and tasty. It comes with a tomatoey, lightly spicy and sweet gravy. It coats the crab well and flavours the crab meat deliciously. However, I actually found the non crab dishes more special compared with the crab.
In the end, I had a great meal and as a whole all the dishes gelled very well, each with its unique taste without much overlap. I would definitely come again for...
Read moregoogle map rating lead us to this restaurant. It made us very uncomfortable from the 1st min we stepped into the restaurant. We were asked to sit at the first table right in front of the entrance. We requested alternative table as we do not want to sit near the entrance. We were told all others were reserved so that leave us with no choice. Only later that we realized they lied because we saw other customers coming in stating no reservations and they were lead to those tables they claimed were reserved. We heard them clearly cos we were seated right at the entrance. They do not have any written menu. When we asked for it, the black-face lady boss told us off saying if they have a written menu, she would place it on our table. I guess this is rude and uncalled for. Who the hack would we know they do not even have a written menu ! She blar out all the menu and of cos we could not caught much of her words in Cantonese, which I am only trained watching HK TV drama series. She presented an impatient attitude after we asked her to repeat a few times.
We, 3 pax, ordered 4 dishes, crab, tofu, chicken and a veg. The food was decent but it’s something we can get anywhere. Well, with such an unpleasant experience, I am very sure we will never go back...

This is our first time eating here. When we arrived at 6.10 pm, we were the only ones there. However, the place filled up quickly from 7 pm. The restaurant does not have a menu to refer to. However, the owner was patient to let us know what they had to offer. We ordered black pepper crab, steamed soon hock fish, qing long chai and their fish paste chicken. The steam fish was especially good. The fish was very fresh, and the meat was tender, and the sauce was flavourful. It's been a while since I had such good steam fish. The black pepper crab was savoury but not so spicy. There's also some fried fritters pieces with the dish, a good combination. The crab was really meaty, and the crab claw was cracked perfectly before cooking, making the removal of the shell easy. The chicken was very nice. Better than at most other places. The fried vegetables were very flavourful and enjoyable even for such a simple dish. Although the price is on the high side, it was well worth it. Will definitely return here to eat on my next...
