We were here for my dad’s and Uncle’s birthday. Celebration. My uncle came 2 weeks ago to order some special dishes and there were 17 of us. We were given 2 tables of 9 and 8 person respectively. since the big table could only manage of group of 13. When we arrived at the restaurant, some car parks were reserved for us so that was handy since we had old people with us. When we got into the restaurant, my Uncle was disappointed that we weren’t given a room for our private function. We were seated at the big hall. It took another 25 mins before the first dish arrived. It was the sea cucumber with abalone and other stuffs like water chestnut. The sea cucumber while seems a bit tougher than usual but still ok. The taste was good as there were abalone that came with it. After the first meal, it took another 15 mins before the suckling pig was served. The dish was garnished with some steam buns and spring onions. To my disappointment, the suckling pig has a very strong gamy taste. The steam buns were not as soft as I wished it to. It was kind of felt like the bun had a dense texture. The third dish was the baked crab with salt and pepper. The first bite I had when I tasted it was salt. It was just too much! Luckily the crab meat was fresh and soft to save the dish. Then came the 2.5kg of Sultan fish. My table has only 8 people and imagine we had to eat the whole fish. It was way too big for the 8 of us and the soya sauce again was too salty to my liking. Kind of spoil the taste of the fish. I bet the chef never considered the number of dishes we had ordered and also the number of people seated on the table. Kind of felt like a ripped off. We ended up packing 1/3 of the fish home. What a shame! By the time we finished the fish, we already so full and no appetite to eat the rest. The big head prawn in supreme sauce came after that. This was really sinful with the black caramelized supreme sauce. I found it too sweet and the prawn were overcooked and the fresh was very tough. What a way to spoil the big prawn! The stirred fried lotus stem with bangkuang, snow peas and cashew nuts was served soon after. The dish was kind of blend and I hardly taste any taste except the bangkuang which was a bit sour which was unusual. This was definitely not one memorable dish for the night. The last dish was the char siew noodles which represented the longevity noodles served for any birthday celebration. It turned out to be another disappointment where the noodles were very overcooked and lost it bounciness. I would gave this a pass too! Then the desserts were served, first was the longevity buns with lotus seed paste. Second came the mochi with peanuts and lastly the dragon fruits with sago sweet soup. We were just overwhelmed with the amount of food and feeling too full. The chef should have advised the host on the amount of food ordered if it was too much. They could have suggested the 2 tables shared one 2.5 kg of fish instead of having 2 x 2.5kg fish per table. Instead of feeling happy and satisfied, we were disappointed with the food quality and the amount of food served was just insane. The bill came out to a whopping rm3100’per table which was shocking. I don’t think I would ever come back again for the poor quality and...

The service there is really… speechless. One of the worst chinese restaurant I have been. We came here after making reservation a week before since we were coming from Penang and waited to be sure of their opening hours. They said they are open at 10:30am but only start serving at 11am. So as suggested by them, we came at 11am. They put us in the private room that smells like a mouldy public toilet you find along the highway. We rather sit out but they said since we are one table, is best to sit in. At that moment we totally did not enjoy tge atmosphere but we sat anyway because we heard the food was good. After ordering, the captain only decided to tell us it would take at least 30min for us to be served because the crews are eating. We were really surprised because we were told to come at 11am when we made our booking. But since we’re there, we agreed to wait 30min. Throughout the 30min NOBODY came to check in on us. When it came to 40min we felt something was wrong because we smell dishes being made and bells being rung (the room is near the kitchen area) so we stepped out to check out the situation. What really pissed us off is that the main hall seated were 6 tables full, all of the guests enjoying what looks like their 3rd dish on the table. We were furious and asked what happened since we made our booking and came earlier to the restaurant. We questioned also why they said it would take 30min to serve us BUT it’s 40min later and other tables who came later than us are bring fed. The captain gave numerous excuses, saying the fish we ordered needed time etc and they wanted to serve out dishes together. In what chinese restaurant do the dishes gets serve together??? Anyway, we said we’re okay to serve the veggies first and they said okay. 25min later our first dishes only came. 10min later our second dish. The food were so-so but the services really cannot salvage this restaurant at all. If you want to come, suggest you eat first OR demand to be seated at...

Absolutely terrible service from the staffs of this restaurant. Just now we found a huge DEAD RAT under the table. We are not able to take a photo because when we told the staffs the Chinese aunty quickly swept the rat away and said it's not their fault because they are only responsible for the tables and not the floor. As an established restaurant, HLT should have cleaned the floor everyday, how could your staffs pass the blame to others when it's their fault for not ensuring that the hall is clean before we enter for dinner. Besides, when I requested the Chinese aunty staff to refill the green chilli, she refused and told me to finish the one piece of chili left on the plate first. I had a disappointing experience with the staff at HLT Restaurant, as they were the rudest and most impolite I've encountered after dining at various restaurants over the years. I hope the manager takes appropriate action, as this behavior negatively impacts the restaurant's reputation and creates a poor impression for customers.

Btw, it was during the Herbalife dinner on 22 February 6.30pm. My table is Table 8. Definitely not coming back...

If you're looking for a family-friendly restaurant, this place is definitely worth a visit. The cozy interior decorations create a comfortable ambiance. Let's dive into the food: The Steamed Chicken with Ginger is a delightful dish that bursts with flavor. The tender chicken pairs perfectly with the aromatic ginger. The Tofu Fish Maw dish combines tofu and fish maw, resulting in a rich and nourishing broth. Enjoy the flavorful broth with rice—it’s truly delightful. The Stir-Fried Dragon Chives with Salted Fish is a unique and tasty option. The salted fish adds a savory kick to the fresh dragon chives. However, there were a couple of misses. The Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables was unfortunately overly salty. I ended up compensating by eating more rice. The Steamed Fish, while incredibly fresh, suffered from overcooking. A better timing control during steaming would prevent this. The restaurant's service is commendable. Most of the staff are foreigners, but they maintain a positive attitude. Local staff are also on hand to assist with ordering. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with room for improvement.

Great dining experience. The food was really excellent. Every single dish was superb. We had a 8-course dinner. Firstly, we had the Superior four combination platter. It was a precursor of great things to come. The double boiled cordyceps fish maw soup was next. Just simply wonderful. Then we had roasted Iberico Spain ribs and roasted village chicken. Fourthly, steamed dragon tiger garoupa was served. The fish was fresh and well steamed. Next, pan fried prawns with soy sauce was served. Following that, the delicious dish of braised tendon, abalone and mushroom was served. After that, a twist of Ipoh came out from the kitchen. Hainanese shredded chicken rice! Simply exquisite! Before closing for the night, there was a serving of 2 varieties of pastries and finally the dessert - sweetened peach gum with lily bulbs.
