The Alley Concept Store (The Alley Degarden) — Restaurant in Perak

Rebrand. Renovate. But somehow, it turned out even worse. Here’s why:

Service – Extremely slow. It took 53 minutes just to get my yam bingsu. The staff clearly lacked training and attentiveness. When I placed the order, I was told the wait would be 30 minutes, which I agreed to. After 35 minutes, I asked a staff member how much longer. He checked and said I had to wait until one more bowl of bingsu was served before mine — which he estimated at “10 more minutes.” In the end, it took 53 minutes. When I pointed this out to the cashier, her only response was, “Ok, sorry.” Honestly, I laughed at myself for expecting decent service from this milk tea shop.

The bingsu – By far the worst I’ve ever had, and now ranked #1 on my personal “worst bingsu list.” The flavors were completely off: condensed milk with yam flavor, pearls that weren’t even chewy, crunchy chips thrown on top, coconut milk bingsu (I think?), crème brûlée, and yam paste. For RM20+++, it’s absolutely not worth it. Low quality ingredients at an unreasonable price. I can easily get far better quality for less in KL.

In short: poor staff coordination, lack of proper training, and disappointing food. Definitely...

If you're there for any of the brown sugar related menus, my advice is to come AFTER around 12.30pm ish? I arrived around 12.05pm(Thursday) and I had to wait a while because unfortunately they were still brewing their brown sugar mixture:') It wasn't quite that long, but just in case you're like me and would like to come in early when there's not much people, you might have to wait for the brown sugar mixture! Absolutely lovely staff very kind and friendly (when I made my order, I asked about a lot of stuff and he was very patient with me:) I could see that they were very nice to the grab and foodpanda drivers too!:) Interior was so beautiful! They are very up to date to the current theme and I just love the decorations. It might seem small from the outside, but they used up the space really good and it has lots and lots of tables and chairs to accommodate big groups:) Of course, menu follows the standard TheAlley choices!:) And yeay! Very friendly and helpful when I wanted to use...

Not sure if this kinda milk tea is really tastes so bad or normal these days. Since we came late so there are only brown sugar series which has not many options, so I ordered the dark chocolate.

It took about 20 minutes to serve after my friend’s drink(dark chocolate as well) when hers get after 5minutes. The drink came out not up to standard, tastes worse than milk tea, a normal dark chocolate drink. Assuming that they used just the normal cocoa powder, add water and brown sugar with pearl, this is how it taste. Apart from it, the way they mix the brown sugar, pearl and cocoa powder really doesn’t match at all.

Not worth for the value, RM14.90 for a drink like this, any drinks from Pasar malam would be better than this. To be honest, if inside scoop is not closing that early, we will...
