I recently had the chance to visit 家香爐味 Kopitiam, and while it was a decent experience overall, there are a few aspects to consider before dining here.
The food is undoubtedly the highlight of the experience. The dishes are well-prepared and flavorful, reflecting the effort put into maintaining quality. The menu offers a good variety, catering to different preferences, whether you’re in the mood for noodles, rice dishes, or lighter snacks. I particularly enjoyed [specific dish if applicable, e.g., their kaya toast or chicken rice], as it was tasty and served fresh.
However, while the food is good, it doesn’t go above and beyond. The flavors are pleasant, but they’re not extraordinary or particularly unique. It’s the kind of meal that satisfies but doesn’t leave a lasting impression.
One of the most noticeable aspects of this kopitiam is the price. Compared to other similar establishments in the area, the prices here are on the higher side. While I understand paying a bit more for quality, I felt the food didn’t fully justify the cost. For instance, a meal that would typically cost RM8-10 at a regular kopitiam might cost RM12-15 here.
If you’re someone who prioritizes affordability, this might not be the best choice. However, if you don’t mind spending a little extra for a clean dining environment, it could be worth it.
The dining environment is a plus. The kopitiam is clean, well-maintained, and relatively comfortable. It’s a nice place to sit down and enjoy a meal without feeling rushed. The seating is organized, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming.
The service was fairly average. The staff were polite and attentive, but there was nothing particularly memorable about the experience. Food was served in a reasonable amount of time, and the staff were quick to clear tables and maintain cleanliness.
家香爐味 Kopitiam is a solid choice if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable place to enjoy a decent meal. The food quality is good, and the variety ensures there’s something for everyone. However, the higher prices may make it a less appealing option for those seeking value for money.
If you’re in the area and don’t mind paying a bit more, it’s worth visiting for the experience. But if affordability is your priority, there are other kopitiams nearby that might offer...

After we ordered, only the server told us they have 7% extra charge for CNY. Didn’t write about this on their menu or have a notice at their shop. We felt like we were cheated.
Not only half the food we ordered weren’t available, we also weren’t notify early about lack of availability.
The female boss attitude wasn’t friendly when we raised our complaint to her. Made us felt like it was our choice...
Read moreCame here craving braised pork and it hit the spot! The food is fragrant and tastes great. I thought the braised pork rice would be my favourite, but the version with noodles was actually even better. I'm also a big fan of their kway tiao—the noodles have a great texture and the pork is lovely. Not a bad experience, I'll be back for the noodles definitely! The only downside is the wait. With only one table, it took about 30 minutes to get our food…really have to be patience for the food...
