Farm To Plate — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

Been here a few times with my friends and decided to bring my family to celebrate father's day and brother's birthday. But turnout this time visit wasn't a pleasant one. We placed our order for the foods and water at 8pm as we arrived at 7.45pm. Our food was served at around 8.20pm but our water were still not served. So, we requested again for our water but was told that they only able to serve bottles of mineral water instead of the filtered water as they were fully booked. We proceed to order a glass of Guinness , a glass of tiger and a bottle of mineral water. The beers were served later but our water still not serve upon several time requests. While we almost finished our meals, our water were only served. Just right after our mineral water were serve. There were a few tables around to us were personally served with glasses of waters and filtered water bottles instead of mineral water when the waiters told us that they're are not serving.

At this point, we were not happy because their service are not consistent what they had said:-

Waiter 1: okay to serve our the water from the glass bottle when we first placed our order. Waiter 2 and 3: We asked to served the filtered water (which other tables from 6 to 8pm seating were also served with bottles of filtered water), but was told that they are not serving filtered water for the night as they were fully booked for the "8pm to 10pm seating" and ONLY SERVE MINERAL WATER. * They should have told me when I first placed my orders instead of us requested at least 3 times for our water to be served.

The staff insisted they will only served mineral water for the night, then they should continue to serve all the tables with mineral waters. Instead they still able to serve others tables of customers with filtered waters when they told us they cant serve it to us. It 's not fair when we were also paying for the services.

PS : We ordered 2 Aglio Olio Mushroom, 1 Truffle Mushroom Pizza, 1 Bacon & Cheese Pizza, 1 Lamb Rack, 1 Fall Off Bone Ribs, 1 Spaghetti Bolognese, 1 Teppan Chicken, 1 Crispy Potato, 2 Mushroom Soup, 2 beers and 1 mineral water and the total billed is RM721.5 (inclusive of service charges and SST).

Overall the foods for the night still good compare to my previous visits except for the aglio olio which is slightly hard and dry.

Food portion, if you have a big appetite, the portion would considered small because the guys...

I was very disappointed with my meal here tonight. It was a totally different experience from the first time I was there, only a month ago.

1. We pre-ordered 2 ribs and 1 chicken. Sadly, despite asking us to pre-order, the chicken was only served more than 1 hour into our meal. Each time we asked to check on the chicken, we were given a standard "Its coming". I really would appreciate if you could have been honest and told me this order was left out, allowing me to cancel it and order something else. Serving the chicken after the rest of our food was cleared is not acceptable at all. And there was no apology, as if it was ok to give us the chicken more than 1 hour into our meal. The rest of the food was served 10 mins after our order and in such a rushed manner! Like the plates kept coming as if the microwave spitted them out .... So can you imagine if it even makes sense that the chicken was unapologetically served late?

2. The servers are extremely not attentive. You've to wave your hands in the air for a few minutes and over a few tries before someone sees you. The servers can literally walk past you, back and forth, just without looking at you. Most of the time, they were also huddled at the cashier or behind the counter - almost out of view. The server who took our order, was not even paying attention. His eyes were on his colleagues who were arranging the next table and I had to wait until he looked at me before I could order, cause he was not listening! How much worst can your service be?

3. When we got the bill, we asked to see the manager. The girl server told me that she's very busy next door. She then asked me what's wrong and I said I needed to speak to the manager. She said she could help instead. Well, if you've not been doing your job the whole night, how can you help me now? And the manager is too busy to see to a customer?

4. As we were walking out, (we are a party of 7 with 4 senior citizens - 2 were using a tongkat with the help of the younger ones), no server helped to even open the door. They just stood to the side and watched us walk out!

A very good first impression as the staff were all attentive and warm. After vetting through the menu for which quite a few of the mains did not seem to any sides, the staff confirmed that sides were small if any. We made individual orders for mains but judging from the other customers, sharing was the way to go here. Our first order was the classic ham & cheese pizza. And true to form, it was placed (as all the other orders were) in the center if the table and we were all given empty plates each. The pizza was good- not stingy with ingredients and packed with flavour. The Iberrico de Bellota ribs came next. This was one of their signature mains. It was good but not outstanding. Although I did like their sake & shoyu sauce. As we were told the sides with the main courses were small- that is totally true. The ribs came with 10 small morsels of baked potatoes and a few leaves. And this carried across the short ribs and grilled jowl. The seasoning for all the meats were either the same or very similar. Ultimately for me, the meats were on the oily side and you’ll feel it after the meal. Our Caesar salad, although good was decent if it was for one serving. I won’t complain if this was not called farm to plate- as such, I did expect, if not an abundance, at least a generous variety of salads. But both the carbo and greens were disappointingly small. The 2 spaghettis came last. The Amatriciana was pretty decent and a good portion. The crackling pork was disappointing. The crackling tasted stale. But the silver lining was when the staff saw it was hardly touched, he asked why. When we told him, he immediately apologised and said he’ll replace it immediately. He did, but it took a while, so we doggy bagged it. I had a piece of the crackling pork and although hard, it was fresh. In conclusion, the service was great, it has a good ambiance. Food wise, I’ll come back for the pastas and pizzas more so...
