The Locker & Loft — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

At 6.40pm, I arrived there. I wanted to order food but the waiter informed that there will be many free flow food (FFF) due to their 9th anniversary, hence, suggested we eat the FFF first and if we aren't full to proceed with our order. I thought he is a good waiter, however, the owner instructed him to serve all of the FFF to his friends only. We were completely overlooked!

At 8pm I ordered two sharing platters, spicy sausage and fish no chips. The waiter can't read English. He mentioned my order incorrectly, which I corrected and pointed to him the two dishes on the menu. He went off.

At 8.20pm, he served the dish of sausage. An acquaintance came over to inform that the waiter served my dish to his table by mistake. At 8.30pm, he served french fries which I told him I didn't order and I was expecting fish no chips. He left. I was hungry and observed the wait staff and crowd. It was evident the chef and kitchen staff are incapable of fulfilling the orders.

At 8.50pm, I told the waiter that I will pay for the sausage only and they shouldn't charge me for the fish. They tried to persuade me to accept the fish claiming it's a very busy day and my dish is ready. I told him, "If it is ready, serve us now. If I have to wait for a few more minutes, I'm leaving."

At 8.53pm, the dish was still missing. I had enough of their incompetence! Imagine not being served FFF and paid food for the past 2 hours. I was famished! I walked up to the cashier and asked for the bill but they continued to explain, give the same excuse and asked me to accept the fish.

Incredulous! A nine-years-old establishment cannot manage the crowd with an arrogant boss and chef that can't even prepare the sharing platter within 20 minutes. I don't appreciate his attitude and his staff's...

I recently had a great experience at this establishment with my family. The food was great (especially the tapas) and cocktails lived up to the hype as well. The Whisky Sour is an obvious standout but most of the cocktails (Gin Rumput, Kelapa Rock, Birds of Paradise and Itchybun) that my family ordered were great too. For beer lovers, the Tiger and Guinness on tap was crisp and cold when we ordered them.

However, a particularly memorable moment of our visit came after we finished having dinner. It was when Locker and Loft was at it's busiest and drink orders were taking slightly longer than usual to come to our table. My dad decided to voice his concerns to the manager Sandeep who was more than accommodating and paid great attention to my dad's constructive feedback. Other restaurant/bar managers might not have handled the situation with such grace but Sandeep did a good job to ensure our concerns were listened to and made sure to rectify the issues! My family greatly appreciated this level of service and care for customers and is what we look for when we come to places like this.

I will be looking forward to coming back to this place in the near future either for a quiet dinner and drinks with the family or a big night out with friends!

In addition, The Locker & Loft is a fantastic venue for events and celebrations. They have a private dining room that can accommodate up to 25 guests, making it the perfect spot for birthday parties, corporate events, or intimate gatherings with friends.
