Any Fresher, You’ll Have to Catch It Yourself Arriving on the shores of Malaysia from Taiwan in 2015 was the Hana Dining Group with the promise of using fresh and quality produce. Service: We placed the order via a third party hence was pretty straight forward Packaging: Nothing much to rave about with very ordinary take away boxes Hotate (RM 31.80) Salmon (RM 20.14) Taste: We are not one to play with our food, though one of the easiest ways to determine if sashimi is fresh would be from its firm flesh which should spring back almost instantaneously. Failing which, or if it feels slightly mushy, a slightly fishy smell to it, you might want to reconsider consuming it. The pictures online were very enticing and looked very promising with much accompanying visual condiments such as flowers and leaves which don’t necessarily appear during a delivery despite what you see online hence much skepticism whilst suspiciously eyeing the delivery package. However we were pleasantly surprised as we unwrapped the sashimi which were both fresh with minimal fishiness and felt firm to the touch. The salmon flesh was a nice shade of pink and the hotate was a light shade of beige. The most pleasurable part of the dining experience was the moment the hotate entered our mouth. It had a beautiful, smooth and soft texture and was slightly sweet as though eating a delicate dessert which melts in your mouth. Price: Reasonable šŸ™†šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Recommended? With the potential to go very right or wrong, Sashimi is risky especially when ordered without accompanying cooked food. However, Hana has begged to differ delivering both fresh and visually pleasing SashimišŸ™†šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Our full review is on Instagram ( @monk3yseendo )

According to the manager, they do not utilise any form of sakƩ, no pork/lard, and protein were sent from halal certified butcheries. My question ended there, good enough for my friend and I We had toro (salmon belly) and sake (salmon, regular part) sashimi, chicken gyoza (fried dumpling), nanban makizushi (chicken cutlet in sushi rice, wrapped with seaweed), edamame, and for myself, chawanmushi (egg custard) Decent marbling (white streaks) on decent cut of toro and sakƩ (the one in the picture is sake, not toro). Taste of the sea was just subtle (the stronger sea smell the better), which made me think that they used fresh-frozen salmon. Sashimi cut was alright too. Good enough for a RM19 per plate sakƩ and RM33 per plate toro Chawanmushi was good, not oversteamed and yay, there's gingko in it, Alhamdulillah! Chicken gyoza was alright, tad bit oily, but decent thickness of dumpling skin to filling ratio. Bukan gyoza oksigen. Our nanban makizushi - the amount of sushi rice was overwhelming, it sort of distracted the whole dish off its star - the nanban (Miyazaki chicken cutlet) which by itself was so tasty Overall, it's alright The place was quiet and dim. It felt very comfortable to sit down for a longer while. Price range is medium

First time for me to tryout Hana Japanese Restaurant and the experience was not pleasant. The environment is cooling as it is fully conditioned in IPC shopping mall. However, the waiters and waitress are not giving good service. When we are ready for order, we have asked to order the food. The waitress that saw us asked another waiter to help. It was okay to do so but the waiter took so long to come and order. When he eventually came, we wanted to order the rice bowls. He turned away again to call for another waiter. How hard is it to just write down or remember our orders? The guy came to serve us later was alright. Another thing is we ordered hot green tea but waited very long to come also and we have to remind them. The green tea pot was just sitting on the bar. You could be thinking the place was crowded so they couldn’t handle but it wasn’t! There were only 3 tables including us and there were 4 waiters and waitresses there. Terrible! Something good of course. Their food was actually nice. I like the concept of varieties of mini rice bowls and you get to tryout almost all the flavours. Other than that, the tofu is delicious as well. Overall good food but bad service.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Japanese restaurant and bar in Selangor, and it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome by the staff, who were all incredibly friendly and attentive throughout my meal.

The decor was stunning, and the ambiance was perfect for a cozy dinner or a night out with friends. The menu featured an extensive selection of Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, and hot dishes like tempura and grilled meats.

The quality of the food was simply outstanding. The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh and expertly prepared, and the hot dishes were flavorful and perfectly cooked. I especially enjoyed the torched salmon sushi and the wagyu beef tataki.

The drinks menu was equally impressive, with a wide selection of sake and Japanese-inspired cocktails. The sake was served at the perfect temperature and paired perfectly with the food.

What really stood out to me about this restaurant was the attention to detail. The presentation of each dish was beautiful, and the staff took the time to explain each dish's ingredients and preparation.

Overall, I highly recommend this Japanese restaurant and bar in Selangor. The food, drinks, and service are all exceptional, and it's the perfect spot for a special occasion or a night out with friends. I can't wait to return and try more of their...

Firstly staff walked into my friend whilst waiting. Not a good start. Then the menu is via QR code which is a pain in the A*. Not only do you have to get past all the advertising then open the welcoming page telling you how sexy the restaurant is you then are presented with a non friendly readable menu. Basically a scan of a full blown printed menu. And of course, no way to actually order the food from the menu so for a big order you end up going back and forth. Total shambles. Most Malaysian venues have not mastered the art of how to use electronic menus. It just makes the ordering process longer. .. See Thailand, Singapore for that.

Rather than doing some things well the restaurant is trying to do everything which results in overall poor quality (and freshness).

Food was bland. Teppanyaki was unloved. Not much care coming out of the kitchen. Service was better than the usual Malaysian standard for such a venue. As usual unable to deliver food at the same time to the guests so as one person nearly finishing the food the second person is still waiting (kitchen problem again).

Lighting is terrible, especially the centre section. Excellent for making horror movies or just feeling generally depressed.

No reason to return but for those working in the area and looking for a group lunch...
