Union Coffee @ Citta Mall — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

I was greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable Barista/cashier. I would like to make a point of saying that he made a very good first impression, well done to him. I ordered a flat white, a piece of triple chocolate mousse cake for my son and a minced beef hash with poached egg for myself. The coffee and cake were nice, would come back for that again.

However, what really let the place down was 3 things... Served by a robot, it might just be a personal choice but for an establishment like this I feel like I should be served by a human. Honestly even self collection would be better... There's something so impersonal about a robot, that just ruined my vibe. The food was cold, the poached egg was broken and there was a wierd taste that I couldn't put my finger on that has made me uneasy and I'm a bit worried I'm going to get sick. Slow service, I know that times are tough staff wise as I work in F&B myself. But the service was exceptionally slow here. I suggest that when someone orders cake, why not just give it to the guest straight away so they can take it to the table themselves?

All in all, I would come back. But I would really like to see some improvement in service speed and would hope that the food is...

Cosy and good ambience for a peaceful cup of coffee. Located at ground level in Citta Mall, suitable for all husbands and boyfriends to have a sip while waiting for the love one doing their chores or shopping (and think about damage control steps). Exactly what I did when my wife going crazy at Harvey Norman clearance sales. Damage control didn't work as what I expected, but I get a cup of coffee.

The place itself provide friendly servers and plenty of seating capacity. I would say reasonably extensive food menu available as well, although I just had a slice of blueberry cheesecake and a cup of flat white so I can't comment on food quality.

Coffee was ok, maybe 3.5 or 4 out of 5, easily better than Starbucks or CBTL but not up to say a real Melbourne coffee. It is acceptable and I won't think twice to come again whenever I am in nearby area. Cake was a little dry, probably I would rate as 3 out of 5.

Plenty of car park available as the place is in a mall and the environment in the cafe are pleasant. To conclude I would say worth a visit and definitely give you a better coffee than a major coffee chain on the same...

My mum was sitting on the chair and out of the sudden, the chair broke and she felt on the floor. The staff / manager did not came to check on her and she injured her back. My dad and friends around helped my mum up and guess what, the staff came just to keep away the chair. A simple "ARE YOU OK MAM??" was not heard at all. Din get to snap a picture of the chair because it was kept away by the staff immediately after the incident while people around is providing aid to my mum. When my mum approach the counter and complain, and guess what, the staff answer "IS IT??"

SERIOUSLY! Is such a shame that a cafe cant even have a good service.

Follow up: After numerous time of complain at the counter. The supervisor took my mum's contact and later the manager reached to follow up with my mum.

My Thoughts: IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR ELDERY TO FELT. You might not see immediate injury but they will need treatment at chiropractor / massage guru. What pissed me off badly is the attitude of your staff. Quick in clearing off the scene and not take up any accountability on this incident. As if it...
