The Black Basket Cafe — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

Dropped by this place for lunch on Christmas Day last year and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The restaurant has a cozy and thoughtfully designed interior, with special seating arrangements in each corner that create a warm, inviting ambiance. During our visit, only a few tables were occupied, likely because the restaurant is tucked away in a quiet mall, but this added to the peaceful atmosphere, which we didn’t mind.

The food was excellent. We ordered the Big Breakfast and the Shoyu Beef, which came with a perfectly cooked over-hard fried egg, just as requested. Both dishes were well-portioned, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. We also tried their coffee and pastries, which did not disappoint. The coffee was nice and the banana croissant really stood out. It was fragrant and deliciously unique.

Service was friendly and attentive. The staff made sure we had everything we needed, offered us water, and checked in to see how we were enjoying our meal. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes.

I did not manage to take any food or drinks pictures. And you know that it's that good that I did not have the chance. Celebrated my son's birthday there today with guest of 20! Yup! I need to bring a troop as the food, environment and service was top notch! Thanks to Evonne and team. The food was awesome! I practically love their signature sirloin steak, cooked to perfection! Their seafood pesto pasta, can't get it elsewhere! Fish and chips, big breakfast, kunyit chicken rice, Alfredo pasta, tofu stew..endless list. All soooo good. The drinks, omg, you need to taste that green tea lemonade and the cold brew coffee! Well. Practically all the drinks was superb as well! A meal can't go without pastries and dessert ! Huge thanks to Black Basket Cafe for letting us use your amazing space for our Coffee Momdate! It was such a cozy and perfect spot for our Mommy Mingling & Networking session with a group of thriving, smart Young Mothers.

The vibe was super cozy and well-decorated! We absolutely loved the photo booth corner! It was the perfect spot to snap memorable pics.

The food? Sedap gila! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and priced just right.

What made it even better was the super friendly owner and staff. They made us feel so welcome and took care of everything so well.
