Updates: Since my last review several months ago, I’ve had quite a handful of dishes from this restaurant, orders and dine-in. Some were average but the rest were good especially the grilled salmon, aglio olio chicken, and definitely the lasagna. In my opinion, I feel it is fair to say that since they’re offering multitude of cuisines, it would be hard to master all of them. Other than that, a good restaurant with good service. ————————— This is a mixed review based on my recent one-time dinner experience here with a friend of mine. I had lamb shoulder. They serve it quick, which is good. Unfortunately, it was below average. Food is cold. Could be the air-conditioner inside, but I can’t confirm this is the cause of that. The lamb was not properly cooked. There is still blood coming out when I pressed the meat. Sides are oily and bland. Gravy is good though. Sadly, there is residue of cleaning sponge in the side vegetables. I’m the kind who will just finish the food if I could. This time though, I had to return the food. My server and the staff were friendly and very understanding of the issue. They profusely apologised and offered replacement. I took a different meal. They went a step further by replacing it for free. I only knew when I was paying. Thank you for that. All in all, I feel that they could improve more, and I do hope they do so. I sat outside. The shop is rather unlucky because next to them is garbage collection point. Do sit inside to avoid unpleasant smell from the collection point. Nice food presentation. Service is great. Waffle is awesomely delicious. Dip and dip class.

We went for dinner just the two of us...my hubby and i. This was early Dec 2021. Heard so much about this place.We made reservation for 8pm. Was told they will only hold for 5 mins. We rushed there trying to make it in time. We arrived 7.55pm. Had to wait for our table. It was really crowded. Then a waitress came and said , "Sorry tapi reservation Puan dah cancel! ".I was ready to argue when another waitress came and said,"Maaf tapi meja belum kemas lagi. Tunggu sekejap."So we waited till our table was ready. I like the place. Nice and cozy. A bit noisy though since there were a lot of customers. I ordered the Mixed Grill...i cant remember what my hubby ordered but it was a steak.The food was really good. My chicken piece was out so they gave me an extra steak. Which was okay with me although i would have loved to try the chicken. Our meal came up to RM162.. i think. Parking was quite hard to get but we managed to park right in front of the restaurant. Just our luck somebody was leaving. I hear theres a basement parking though. So since i enjoyed my time here...we decided to visit again this Saturday. All 8 of us plus my 2 year old grand daughter.I made reservation for 8.30pm. Was told the last reservation is at 8pm. Will try our best to get there in time. Though i dont know how as Maghrib is now at 7.30pm. It takes me about more then 30mins to get there. Maybe i will pray at the mosque so as to be there at 8pm.

Assalamualaikum. I do not usually give full reviews but all I have to say is that the food quality did not meet our expectations. My family and I came to Putrajaya’s branch today (19th February 2023) for lunch and it is our first time here. We made the reservation earlier for eight (8) people to avoid queuing. The food tasted okay and the price was reasonable. However, the food quality was bad, maybe because the chef did not properly check the food before being served. 1) The FRIES (appetizers) were SERVED LATE AT THE SAME TIME AS THE MAIN COURSE and the fries were SOGGY. 2) The APPETIZERS WERE SERVED ON KIDDIES’ PLATES (similar to Ikea plastic) when it was not listed under the kid's menu in the first place (see photo) 3) We ordered the YOUYO MELTIQUE BEEF to be a MEDIUM COOK BUT TURNED OUT to be MEDIUM RARE. 4) The GRILLED DISHES that we ordered (Striploin Steak, Grilled Chicken, Mixed Grilled & Youyo Meltique Beef) WERE NOT NEWLY GRILLED but reheat maybe, yet BARELY WARM. 5) The GRILLED CHICKEN was also DRY. 6) The brown sauce that was served with the grilled dishes - was COLD. 7) The BUTTERMILK CHICKEN was also COLD. Served with soup, but the SOUP WAS COLD UNTIL YOU CAN SEE THE FAT THAT ALREADY SET FLOATING IN THE SOUP. 8) THE ROASTED POTATOES WERE COLD & SOGGY. It is like they were cooked and baked yesterday and reheated before being served, yet they are BARELY WARM. 9) I ORDERED A LATTE (as stated in the menu book), but unfortunately, it DID NOT TASTE LIKE A LATTE at all but like a Kopiko candy. So, I asked the staff what is this and the staff proudly answered, “WE USE INSTANT COFFEE”. (I think you should not mention it as a latte in your menu book, better put it as “Instant Coffee” and charge it accordingly). 10) The BLUEBERRY CHEESE WAFFLE turned out to be like a BLUEBERRY JAM BEING DUMPED ON THE WAFFLE together with a scoop of ice cream or cheese (not sure) and oreo-crumb (see photo) 11) The ICE CREAM on top of the BANANA SPLIT CARAMEL WAFFLE WAS CRYSTALLIZED (has already melted and is re-freeze) I gave it 1 star because one of the waffles ordered was well-presented and had great taste (see photo). We did not bother to take many photos as we were not excited to do so (because of the food quality). It was just an honest review. In my view, the owner/ the branch manager/ the chef should seriously consider the comments and take immediate action for the good sake of the restaurant. Thank you!

Summary: if you are particular about your meat, this is not the place for you. The pictures of the meat and the food suggested that they are connoisseurs of meat. But it turned out its an ordinary Malaysian "western" restaurant. Overall in terms of food, there is a lot to improve in the kitchen. Its like barang order and barang terima kind of feeling. Looks good only in pictures. I didnt want to go to Smoke Kingdom after reading the reviews and the 3.8 rating. Some of the reviews suggested undercooked food, saltiness and late service as their main issues. But then my relative wanted to try because it is "by Don Daniyal". To appease them, i went. The positive. Restaurant easy accessibility, restaurant decoration is good, restaurant is clean, staff were polite and courteous. The only good food that i tasted was worthy was the Hawaiians Pizza. The blend of sauce and cheese was good. Cheese was stringy to the base. The negative. The reviews i read before this were not far off from my experiences at this outlet. The steak was raw. We had to to return it to the kitchen to ask them to grill it more. The grilled chicken was cold when we received it, which suggested they either pre-cooked or they had it out in the open for too long. Pizza was the only good thing that had taste and was hot when we received it. In terms of taste, our grilled chicken and mixed grill were bland; the sauce they provided for the meat gave it some taste. But only just a tad because it was quite runny sauce. They used the same sauce for the mixed grill, grilled chicken and double beafy burger; they even had another pasta sauce for the mixed grill which was a bit strange. The 2 star is only for the pizza and cleanliness of the place, and the courteous staff.

Read mixed review about this place, decided to give it a try..arrived at about 3pm..place was like it was closed but the signage says its open, no customer inside, just 3-4 staff. Location wise its in a well known area in Putrajaya, Ayer@8, nice lake view and right opposite Masjid Besi(Masjid Tuanku Mizan), but parking is a bit hassle, basement parking not properly lit and flooded, management should look into this, parking is a known problem here since forever I guess. Shop is easily located, nice view, nice ambience. Staff is friendly, helpful but can be further trained on hospitality ethics, attitude, even though I'm the only customer at the time please don't talk too loud, laugh too loud. Food preparation and packaging is good, don't have to wait too long, food is well packed. Food quality and taste, not so good, broccoli is soggy, salmon is sliced not fillet so the skin is not crispy, when your black pepper sauce is thick because of corn starch, that really give away the quality of your food, so sorry Ustaz Don, real fan of yours but for your food venture, I guess needs lot of improvement. F&B is not just about serving food, but proper management, friendliness, cleanliness, food preparation, inventory quality, fresh produce quality, proper pricing..to put it simply, all round greatness and fulfilling ecperience. Harap Ustaz dan team tidak berkecil hati pandangan ikhlas saya, bukan nak menjatuhkan tapi nak tengok Smoked Kingdom berjaya dengan jayanya.

I had dinner at Smoked Kingdom by Don Daniyal in Putrajaya last night, and overall, the experience was just okay. The place is not too big but just the right size, comfortable for a meal with family or friends. As for the food, it’s okay, but I think there’s room for improvement. Adding sides like mashed potatoes or coleslaw would be a nice enhancement to the menu. Price-wise, it’s fair and acceptable for what you get. However, what really dampened the experience was the service. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t seem very friendly and, at times, their manner came off as a bit rough. What’s surprising is that the communication over WhatsApp was fine, so I’m unsure if it was just a bad day or if this is how they generally behave. As a customer, it wasn’t the most comfortable experience being treated that way. I’m not expecting special treatment, but basic courtesy and attentiveness would go a long way. It’s no surprise that this branch seems to have a lower rating than others. Improving the customer service, just being more welcoming, smiling, and paying attention to guests, could make a big difference. Since I went with my family, I felt more disappointed. Had I been dining alone, I probably wouldn’t have been as upset. As for coming back to this branch? Probably not. But I might try another branch, hoping the service will be better there. This is my own experience, not sure with others.
