Nando's Imago — Restaurant in Sabah

Worst meal I have had so far in Kota Kinibalu. First, we came in and they told us to sit down. We had never been to Nando's before so we didn't know how to order at first. Nobody bothered to tell us how. After a few minutes of sitting and nobody coming to our table I picked up the menu myself and found out that I had to scan the barcode, order and pay first before our meals would be delivered to us. And then it took about 40 minutes for them to make our meals that looked like it could have been made in 5 minutes. And we saw some other people that came after we ordered and paid for our meals got their food before we got ours. And the most annoying thing was the waiter knew they took too long with our order and decided to apologize to my boyfriend and to my boyfriend only (not even a glance my way, let alone an apology. He also asked if my boyfriend wanted any sauce and that he'd bring it to him, again not offering me the same courtesy. For added information my boyfriend is white and I'm Asian but not Malaysian). I was flabbergasted. Disgusted even. It's like I had been transported back to a time when men were openly deemed more valuable and important than women. Lastly, the place was ghastly. Oh, the horror the couches must have gone through. The duct tapes couldn't cover half of it. The state of the sofas gives away the idea that either the restaurant is about to go under or the management simply doesn't care about the...

Great ambience, plenty of seats inside and out. This place is known for the chicken and the colourful flavours of Peri-Peri. Peri-Peri is known to be spicy, so be aware for those who are not "hot-tongued." The interior is quite unique - a bunch of pots hanging on the ceiling of the bar and some more pots arranged at the side wall added by hanged abstract paintings on the other side for contrast. The mood is set nicely as the lights are yellow and dimmed, and just the right brightness. Songs of jazz are being played as well, which made this place seem a little bit fancy.

The menu is great. I ordered the Butterfly chicken with one regular side dish. I wanted the salad to come with my chicken but to my surprise, they don't have any uncooked vegetables at the time. (Not even if I ordered the burger, I would have to settle with a burger with no vegetables, which is a big no for me). So I ended up ordering the grilled vegetables as a side dish - which is good enough, I guess. It's a good thing that the taste is spectacular, for the price that I'm paying, I expect no less! The drinks are served without straws (they are making an environmental statement against plastic straws) so if you're used to drinking with straws, bring your own reusable ones like I did. Super poor service!!! Was drop by at the restaurant around 6pm for food pick up. There was no one attends to me after i stood at the counter for 5minutes. And what happened next was really surprised me. I told the staff that i am here to collect my online order, she answered me ‘belum siap’ without asking for the order number, which i had placed my order at 5.15pm and i was in the restaurant at 6pm. I asked ‘lama lagi kah?’, she answered again without checking, yes lama lagi. I requested for second confirmation, the staff claimed that the restaurant didnt received the order and said that she cannot proceed with my online order even after i showed her the order details and email confirmation receipts. The staff left me at the counter without provide any further solutions. She even refused to provide me the customer service contact number. Like ‘tiada’ is the only answer what a NANDO’s staff could provide! The most bad attitude i ever saw!!! And the most funny thing was, the foods was actually ready prepared……… she just simply answering my questions with ‘belum siap’, ‘lama lagi’, ‘we didnt received your order’, ‘salah date’ without doing any checking on the order number. Please take note on this and do some actions. It does really ruin a day of a Nando’s...
