We were immensely impressed by the size of the restaurant when our driver brought us here. The staff escorted us to our table, and to place our order, we took the table number stand to the signboard displaying various dishes, where a staff member took our order. Please note that there was no price list on the display board, so it's advisable to ask for prices to avoid surprises when paying later. We initially desired a large crab, but unfortunately, they only had small crabs available that day. When they said it was a small crab, it truly was small, and we ended up ordering 3 crabs (RM11 each) in their special sauce. Additionally, we ordered 2 large wet butter prawns (300 grams for RM69), a small lettuce (RM15), white clams (RM15), and one serving of plain white rice (RM2.50). For drinks, we opted for Herbal Tea (RM4), Welcome Coffee (RM5.50), and Chinese hot tea (RM0.50). While the special crab sauce was delightful, the small size of the crabs made them less enjoyable. However, the prawns paired wonderfully with the flavorful butter sauce. The white clams arrived soaked in a mild gingery soup and were quite enjoyable. Overall, it would have been a 5-star meal if we had been able to enjoy a larger crab.

Tried twice. Welcome Seafood Restaurant has 3 restaurants: A, B and C. - - - First visit at Restaurant A 1. Fried Fish Sauce Meehun (RM11.66) 2. Sweet & Sour Prawn Rice (RM11.66) Taste: 7/10 Value: 7/10 Both dishes were not bad and reasonably priced for a restaurant. - - - Second visit at Restaurant B 1. White Prawn 500g (17 pieces) - Sashimi (RM42.40) Rating: 9/10 - You have to request for the prawn heads to be deep-fried when you order. Or else, they will be presented raw on the plate. 2. Geoduck 500g (8 pieces) - with Ginger (RM27.56) Rating: 9/10 - Because the weight includes the shells, the meat portion was not much. 3. Soft Shell Crabs 300g - Deep-fried (RM34.98) Rating: 9/10 4. Seafood Fried Rice (Small) (RM11.66) Rating: 8/10 - - - Live Seafood Prices (per kg): - White Prawn - RM80 + 6% SST - Geoduck - RM52 + 6% SST - Soft Shell Crab - RM110 + 6% SST - - - Accepts eWallet payment. No 10% Service Charge (unlike KK Garden Seafood). - - - Note: They do not provide a menu for live seafood. The cooking style menu for live seafood is on a sign board. Price of live seafood is on the tank. Verdict: Will come again

Local perspective: Very disappointed. Not delicious and pricey. (Mid October 2022) Expensive (quality-wise), seafood and other food dishes is not good at all, would not come back again. Price: 2/10 Hygiene: 3/10 Food: 5.5/10 Ambience: 7/10 (many people) Service: 6/10 The food is terribly not good at all, after tourists coming here. It used to be a decent place but now it is overpriced and bad. We were sitting in the air conditioned room, and whole area SMELLS VERY FISHY. All the food dishes that we ordered were very disappointing. Only decent one is the clam soup. Their fresh steamed fish… smells like mud and yes, all are farm raised…. 🫠(only grouper, siakap and tilapia available). And you know what, we ordered a small portion of chicken dish (Rm18) but it came out to be 3pieces only! +1 piece of bone. Not to mention the steamed prawns were not proceeded at all… prawn is not devenined and horns not cut which is to be expected at this price point in a restaurant. Very Disappointed. Almost no waiter to service the air conditioned area…. Waiters outside not attentive at all. Even pay also have to wait and wait. Spent around Rm370 for 6 person. Still ok for that price but not worth it at this price vs quality. Would not come back here.

Great Food and value for money 👍👍 3 Male adults after climbing Mount Kinabalu went for dinner with tired legs and body at Welcome Seafood. Ordered Clam Soup, butter prawns, emperor veg, chilli shells, Deep fried Bean Curd and Beehoon. Clam Soup, this Woke everyone up, the fresh Ginger soup and fresh Clams!! Definitely Good!! Butter prawns, was tasty but we would opt for Steam prawns next round. Emperor Veg, with no option of Spinach and 3 eggs, we went for this and was rewarding with fresh vegetables and Well cooked with Garlic Chilli Shells, the chilli ain't too spicy and the shells are fresh. Deep fried Bean Curd: this is something of a House Special and it's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Very simple looking but taste Great!! Fried seafood Beehoon, may be a simple & common dish, but this was TASTY with the taste of Seafood in the Beehoon itself.. Well soaked with the soup based! Seafood parts on the dish was so-so compared to the other items.. Will be back there again with more pple, if possible, to try more dishes.. 3 tired men left Filled and very Satisfied..

It was highly rated in Google and therefore here we were. We went to the outlet next to Hilton Hotel. I wasn't sure if i was feeling too hungry after my day activity or it was really tasty but the both of us had a very good meal! We were directed to the ordering corner where there was a display board with photos of the food. We ordered the scallops, fried sotong, lala soup, fried bee hoon with sliced fish and the sambal potato leaves. I really like the fried bee hoon and the fried sotong (calamari), the scallops and the lala (clams) soup comes second... the sambal potato leaves was so so only. The fried sotong was tender and tasty and the accompanied sweet chilli goes well with it. My friend enjoyed the lala soup so much that he finished all the soup! The lala was thick and juicy. The fried bee hoon was also tasty and got a bit of wok hei. Please bear in mind I was really hungry then... but then again, not everything tasted good even when I was hungry (I'm very picky with my food).. so I would say this review is still quite reliable.

Revisited Welcome Seafood in Asiacity, Kota Kinabalu after what felt like ages. Sadly, it’s a completely different place now. The once cozy spot has ballooned into a monstrous, overcrowded seafood factory. The place was packed to the brim with tourists, and finding a table felt like winning the lottery. The service was non-existent, probably because the waiters were drowning in orders. We finally managed to snag a table and picked out some seafood. The shrimps were decent, but the crabs were a major disappointment. No big juicy ones in sight, just tiny ones done kam hiong style. We also tried sea snails and a steamed grouper, which was okay. The constant lobster pushing was really off-putting. It felt like we were being judged for not ordering the most expensive thing on the menu. The whole experience was a far cry from the seafood paradise I remembered. It's now just another overpriced, impersonal tourist trap. What a shame.
