Go Fun Kee Bak Kut Teh （Ban Hock） — Restaurant in Sarawak

BAN HOCK ROAD BRANCH * We are truly disappointed with the service at this branch and it is something we have never experienced before. We were standing at the entrance stupidly waiting to see if we should take a seat or just leave. Kept looking the staff as we want to ask what's next but no one seemed to care. They all looks like wants to knock off early. We looked transparent. One guy (forgot to take his photo, plump and not wearing glasses) walking passed us by purposely ignoring us twice when I called upon him. His eyes didn't even want to lay sight on our side.

If the place is too busy and can't handle or kitchen is closed, please let us know and NOT let us stand there and wait stupidly didn't know what to do. No one wants to serve us. The evening wasn't even THAT busy as all customers food are served. We're from business background and visited millions of restaurants worldwide, this is the first place we encounter this terrible service in our hometown. How embarrassing!

Once we finally get to order, including our drinks. After eating ALL our FOOD, not even a sip of drink was served. I guess they didn't want us to stay any longer because it is closed to their closing time. If you're about to close, please tell your customers. We did not need to spend any of our single penny in there having such an unpleasant meal.

This is a famous local Chinese Bak Kut Teh chain with many branches in Kuching. I think the design of this branch is the most beautiful and vintage among them. There are ground floor & 1st floor seats, the ground floor seats are quite limited, and mostly full.

Apart from the signature the Bak Kut Teh, curry fish head, clay pot dishes, and vegetable / cold dish, they offer a special menu in this branch which is Braised Pork Belly with Fried Bee Hon that portions for 3-5pax.

I don't know what is happening here. Everytime I visit, the male employees manning the first floor don't feel like serving customers. There's kind of dissatisfaction look on his face. And please give customers time go through the menu. He seems every impatient, expecting you to order once you're seated. I liked the place though uniquely decorated. Foods taste wise, sometime ok sometime not perhaps depends on the food preparer...
