Still just as good, although prices have increased. Was a bit of a queue outside on a Saturday 11:30am but I was seated around 15m. Ordered the #6 this time.
The beef broth was flavourful and strong in a good way, and the abura ramen was well balanced with tender strips of stewed beef. Not a big portion for the price but the food is a bit rich and will leave you satisfied.
Also tried their tau foo fah - it was nice and the textural contrast with the crushed peanuts is a nice touch.
Fair warning - the place is strictly cash only. No QR DuitNow / SPay accepted either. There are notices around the shop informing this.
Very nice water cakes and abura soba with butterflied sardines, fried until crispy and glazed with teriyaki sauce - everything is edible including the head. Served with a small bowl of soup. Very unique and I like it a lot. There was a queue when I arrived on a Sunday 11am but didn’t have to wait long to be seated. It’s expensive at first glance but it’s worth the price for the quality and portion size.
Service was friendly and food was served quickly.
Would come again to try...
Read moreCame abit late in the afternoon as the dish sets finish fast. Welp, if the food sold out fast before the afternoon, u know foods bussin fam! Aight so I tried the chicken asoba, food gud fam... Like lit💯👌🏻 Firstly was the appetiser, I had Salty Chwee Kueh, was taken aback coz it was a nice surprise. So i gave this a 3.5/5. As for the main dish: for someone who eats nissin ramen twice a week, that instant ramen can't be compared to the real thing. Its like yakitate japan, I can feel the trumpet of war and saw the emperor was eating besides me and lord was like "Kah3! Subarashii soba! Umami bussin!" *as lord hideyoshi flips back his sunglasses(don't question me, this is my reaction and I will exaggerate the story to prove my point lmao) Okay for the dessert, the tofu fa was amazing can taste the gula apong and crush peanuts, all foods were handmade from scratch and it was amazing! A friend recommended me to have the cold one as its the best so far, wasn't able to order it because it was also sold out. If I had the opportunity again to come here or to whom reading this... Jump the gun and order the cold tofu...
Read moreOrdered Panda chicken ramen, Gyuniku Ramen, Chwee Kueh(Steamed rice water cake) and Tofu Fah. Both ramens are awesome. The Gyuniku Ramen is a beef ramen that come separate with a small bowl of beef broth, the broth is so thick and delicious. Whereas the steamed rice cake is a must try, the sauce is slightly spicy and it's match well with the rice cake. Tofu Fah is a little special with the peanut crushed on top, and it doesn't taste too sweet.
The place is clean and well ventilated. However, it is a non-airconditioned open kitchen with bar seat in very simple design, so the seat is quite limted. It will be difficult to look for seat if come in groups.
A little longer for the waiting time, as only a chef prepares for all ramen orders. Hence, it will be better to try the steamed rice cake or Tofu Fah first if come with hungry stomach. Nevertheless, the chef is friendly when serving the ramen...
