The only good things about this place were the parking space and location, close to Waterfront (about 5-7min walk), Top Spot Seafood Food Court (3-5min walk), 126 Laksa Sarawak and Chong Choon Cafe were just right behind it (1-2min walk), and several malls were very close by (3-5min walk).
The downside was, the hotel was nothing like the photos on their Agoda page. It was a huge disappointment. Floor tiles were hollow and tilted, be careful when you walk so as not to trip. The walls and staircase were dirty and stained. Our room door's peephole was broken from the outside and from the inside, it was stuffed with tissue paper. Our room door knob was dislodged and it took forever to lock and unlock, had to shimmy key in and out, up and down. The toilet sink was clogged. The toilet door was moldy and peeling off at the bottom due to constant contact with water. The toilet ceiling had huge water stains. No toiletries provided, bring your own. No hair dryer and floor mat either, but requested from frontdesk and was given them. TV wasnt functioning well, humans on tv were blue in color. Staff service was horrendous except for the boy in night shift who rendered great service. There was a female staff who was rude and condescending. During check-in, she asked for our room type (queen bed) and I answered that we had requested a twin bed, not sure if it was available. She snarkily replied 'they're all fully booked, otherwise, you would've been able to book it online'. This hotel also has a 0% tolerance on late check outs. If you were late for 5 mins and above, RM10 will be charged per hour. We reached front desk probably on the 8th min and we were charged. We tried explaining that the broken door lock kept us fiddling forever. The rude female staff said we should have highlighted during check in and she could've moved us to a different room, i said 'i thought you were fully booked?', she one up-ed us and said 'we could've UPGRADED you and put you in a BIGGER room'. She blamed us for not complaining about the lock and therefore, she couldnt help us on the late charge. The charge was fine and it wasnt about the money at all, it was her attitude and how she approached it. Will not...
Read moreI recently stayed at PLACE2STAY, Jalan Abell Kuching for five days, and my experience was extremely disappointing.||Upon check-in, I found a long blonde hair on the bed, clearly indicating that the bed sheets had not been changed or the bed cleaned. This basic level of cleanliness was shockingly absent.||On the second day, the air conditioning in one of the rooms I rented stopped working, leaving my daughters to sweat through an uncomfortable night. Despite informing the night reception immediately, no one bothered to check or fix the issue during our stay. This level of disregard for guest comfort is unacceptable.||I had rented four rooms but ended up using only three due to these ongoing issues. While the lady receptionist was nice, friendly, and helpful, it is evident that there is a severe lack of oversight and management at this hotel. It seems the owner is either absent or indifferent to the operations and guest experiences.||The rooms also lacked basic toiletries and amenities, except for towels, which further compounded the negative experience. Additionally, no one ever picked up the phone when I tried to call the reception desk for assistance, making it extremely difficult to communicate and resolve these issues promptly. The hotel's email address or server also appears to be non-functional, adding to the frustration.||I hope the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements to ensure future guests do not face similar...
