The porridge stall at Min Hong Kee serves one of the best porridge in town. It’s thick, hearty and packed with generous portions of meat. A bowl is more than enough to leave you full and satisfied. The Heng Hua Noodle from another stall is also a real gem in Kuching. The broth is rich yet light, full of flavour that pairs perfectly with the thick, chewy noodles. Topped with shrimp, pork slices, seaweed, peanuts and egg strips, every bite offers a great mix of texture and flavour. A truly comforting and satisfying bowl.

The Sarawak Laksa is quite nice, taste is decent at RM7 per bowl (special). Kolo mee was commendable - moist and flavorful, without too much of the oily aftertaste. Barbecued meat as pictured was slightly disappointing, not much flavour and was a bit dry. The bad part of this cafe was cleanliness - there was a dead cockroach right underneath our chairs. I guess that's what you'd expect from a B class kopitiam. Nevertheless, a good place for decent breakfast in the heart of Kuching golden triangle.

It's been ages since I was last here (almost a decade). Used to have Char Sui rice lunch, which it's stall is renowned. However, I heard it's morning porridge is good. It's googy like Cantonese Chook. The basic RM5 one we have consists of just pork meatballs - generous amount . Comes with accompanying fried fritters. If you appreciate this type of porridge, they're great! Its most expensive - the Works - goes up to RM8.

Atmosphere is normal kopitiam style, food selection and quality is good especially the porridge. But the drinks service is inconsistent. It is sad. Experienced ordering toast and soft boiled egg with my drink. Not only was it slow but my egg was fully hard boiled. When I asked, no one. I mean literally no one wanted to do anything about it , one just said meant to be that way. Which is fine. An egg is an egg. But because they took so long. I ask for a simple plastic bag to take away the hardboiled egg as I already cracked it and I was running late. I was literally kept being passed and I needed to asked three ppl for a simple plastic bag. This was not about being 'busy' as it takes longer for them to talk to each other and pass me around. They literally did not want to take on the simple task of getting a simple bag until I decided to show I was getting annoyed. This service is only the drink stalls as I have experienced similar in past. They are not rude and can be friendly, they just have an issue somehow with tasks like this that maybe they don't consider is their duty. The food stalls so far no issues and service is great, it is only the...
