Waterfront Kpg Gersik-Boyan — Attraction in Borneo

Three small villages (kampung Boyan, kampung Gersik, kampung Surabaya) nestled along the north bank all share a calm and scenic waterfront. More peaceful than the other side but also less to do. Odd hours, so hard to figure out when anything is open, however just walking around is nice. So much greenery and nature lots of cute houses and hand made structures, more cats wandering around. Lovely experience of the countryside right across the river from an urban center. There's also a botanic garden and orchid garden nearby, and a few deserted structures that make for interesting photos. A wonderful and fascinating tourist attraction. There are shops, souvenir stalls, food and drink stalls serving various local delicacies and drinks, cake house selling many delicious cakes and cookies including the famous Sarawak layered cakes. There is a long pathway along the river bank where one can take a look at the beautiful views of the majestic hotels and the waterfront opposite the river. I have frequented this place quite often but I will always remember the day this place was flooded in Feb 2015. Many people came here on that day to take pictures.
