For where it is and what you get - 5 min walk from the waterfront, wifi in the room, very good aircon, TV with satellite, a hot shower & free drinking water daily - it's difficult to argue with the price. We paid £12.75 a night with Agoda. Paying directly to the hotel was exactly the same price when we asked.|Downsides - the wifi occasionally stopped (never for long), the towels are threadbare, the bathroom (Asian wet room style) takes forever to dry out, the eateries next to the hotel are noisy until they shut around 23:30/midnight and the rooms are generally a bit battered.|We actually stayed here twice - we moved to the 360xpress (separate review) because we thought it would be nicer, but you get a lot more for your money at the Tai Pan and it doesn't smell as bad, so we came back. In the end we stayed a total of 5 nights.|Staff are friendly but they don't really do anything extra - if you want a taxi they give you a number to call, if you want a tour then they give you a number to call etc. but there is someone there 24/7 - we checked in a 01:30 after our flight was delayed.|Lots of places to eat immediately outside. Very cheap and the food is ok but we didn't find them particularly welcoming - basically if you're not of Asian appearance then you will be openly stared at throughout your meal. The Hong Kong noodle place a couple of doors further away has a...
Read moreThis place is what it is. The room was small, and the bathroom was an "all in one" (no separate shower area). It can be kind of noisy at night with the inner courtyard restaurant. Shutting the bathroom window helped a lot. The room was clean and the beds made daily. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Be aware they do not take visa, had to pay on the last day with cash. Air con worked great.||Great location, close to the waterfront and lots of shops, bars etc just a short walk away. Make sure you get the deep fried bananas from the street hawker outside...

And that family also extended their stay which meant we had no more room eventhough we already paid for that family room. But instead we had to settle for 2 rooms with 2 single beds because it was already late we are too tired to find another hotel or ask...
