Been a regular here for a few years now, even introduced friends & family to try. However, my recent dining experience here was extremely disappointing. NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN NOR INTRO ANYONE ELSE TO!!!
First of all, we booked a table for 2 at 630pm at their outdoor terrace. Asked if we can switch to indoor tables instead, waiter rejected us, saying indoor is fully booked, ok nvm. Then the rain started pouring heavily with strong wind… a couple who was seated next to us moved in, along with a table of families of 6 or so. Just left us, no one came to assist us to move our table. Even their top transparent roof was leaking.. and still no one helped. With the rain splashing badly, we had to find our own way by moving to the bar counter. Asked one of the baristas if we can be seated there, he said ok. Asked the 1 of the outdoor waiter nearby to assist us by transferring our plates and food that has been served to the bar counter, he nodded, but was just standing there looking down on his phone… NO ONE HELPED.. WORST SERVICE EVER! Srsly never stepping in here again lol.
Food & Drinks wise, HORRIBLE. Orange juice tasted so STRANGE, not sure what they added, but it’s definitely not pure or fresh. The Matriciana Pasta tasted very very ODD...
Read moreA cool highly rated restaurant located on the far end of the building block. Service was excellent the moment we stepped in. Though there was a mishap with the printing and a delay in our food, which the lovely waitress informed us, the food was worth the wait. Prices are on the higher end but worth it for the quality.
Heres what we ordered: ESCARGOT. Delicious and fresh. It was seasoned well with basil, olive oil and garlic. Easy to pull out and soft. Served with toasted baguettes, the combination was like melted savory butter.
SEAFOOD PAELLA. Rice was well cooked and seasoned, taste of tomatoes with a hint of bell peppers. Very flavourful with fresh seafood. Seafood on the paella were squid, prawns and clams. The only issue was the difficulty in peeling the prawns as they stick to their shells.
CHORIZO MUSHROOM PIZZA. The pizza was very tasty but pizza base was a bit too hard and oily. But the chorizo and mushroom really went well together.
RASA SAYANG COCKTAIL. The cocktail was very delightful. Light, sweet and perfectly balanced.
ICED CHOCOLATE. Not bad but chocolate is quite bitter. Tastes like baking dark chocolate was used. Not for everyone.
Overall, will love to come back again and try other dishes...
Read moreThis place well deserves its rating as the top restaurant in Kuching. Serves great Mediterranean food with some local iterations like the laksa pizza at reasonable prices. The lamb shank is very good as is the gambas prawns. Paella is fine as well. The best to me were the desserts which came in generous portions and high standards. As we were there for a group dinner event, we were given the large room upstairs which was spacious and tastefully decorated. The wait staff were great and very attentive. Didn’t get a chance to try any of the interesting cocktails but did drink the 1602 Sarawak craft beer. If you don’t mind beer, you should certainly give this one a try - a very good craft beer. I live overseas and have tried Mediterranean restaurants in various places and I have this to say. Zinc can certainly hold its own against any Mediterranean restaurant outside of Kuching and has a very nice ambience. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great night out in Kuching with great...
