This Hainanese coffeeshop operates on 2 levels: In the morning from 7 am. to 12 noon, Mee Jawa Rabak occupies a stall in front to prepare Mee Jawa; while at the back, there’s a grill that continuously churns out chicken and beef satay to compliment the Mee Jawa. The majority of the customers are Malays and it’s always fully packed; there’s no doubt about its reputation preceding before it. The Hainanese couple with his sister take care of the coffee, tea, drinks, boiled eggs, and toasts.
In the evening, from 7 pm. to 10:30 pm., a tiny noodle stall, Jane’s Noodle & Rice, operates from the walkway at the back of the shop, selling Kolo Mee & Curry Rice. She has her followings, totally different from the morning crowd. Entrance is through the back door, with seatings inside, and a couple of tables on the walkway.
