Fantastic spot in Subang. Food was very good! Only took 1 star off the food rating since the Yuzu Gin and tonic wasn’t quite right, couldn’t taste the yuzu and the bartender was a bit heavy handed with the gin, then again some people might like that haha. Overall vibe of the place was really great with lively and upbeat atmosphere. Cool place for a date or to meet some friends for a few drinks and food. The food itself was pretty stellar. We had the Crispy prawns with fried rice which was very flavourful, prawns had a slightly spicy batter which was surprisingly light. We had the mango salad which was fresh and came with a decent sauce. The gochujang with prawns was my favourite. A little spicy but well balanced with rigatoni pasta that was cooked al dente, and some breaded prawns. Lastly we had the roast duck bao which was probably one of the best dishes. The roast duck was in the form of the sweet meats you get around Asia, so this was an interesting take on a bao, I’d highly recommend it. Next time we go I’d definetly order a beer to pair with the food, think that would be perfect!

Had dinner there the other night as I was in the area and looking for food… Was not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised with the food. First off the Fish Burger was amazing! Super tender and flavourful cos fish fillet, and it was not dry at all. Crispy, but soft and flaky at the same time. Definitely a must try! Ordered the Nasi Lemak bungkus… The combination itself is not bad, just lacked some oomph in the sambal. The Chicken Karaage was nice, albeit a bit dry. Saving grace was that the rice was fragrant with a good pandan fragrance wafting up when you open the packet. Tried also the Wagyu skewer, nice tender and yummy. But I guess a small piece for the cheap price that I am paying for (RM18) Overall, excellent food Atmosphere is a typical bar like cafe, a bit dim lighted and loud music, which is not always what I enjoy. Service wasn’t very attentive, but it was quite busy. Food was served quite quickly. Will return to try the pizzas and pastas next. Tables next to us ordered and they both looked good

Fun menu and cocktails, generous sharing portions for food, relaxed neighborhood spot for a casual night out with shared plates and drinks. Some dishes better than others. Been here 3 times now and have my favorites: Hamachi Sashimi Umeshu (fresh citrus twist on sashimi), Duck and Bak Kwa bao buns, Duck Dumplings, Chicken skewers (nicely seasoned, perfectly cooked, perhaps only a tad too salty), Mushroom Aranchini (creamy risotto inside, deep fried on the outside), Pesto Chicken Toastie (great combination of flavors in a toasted brioche). Would skip the Tempura Mushroom bao buns - sticky sauce was both spicy and overly sweet at least for me. To me the Sirracha Chicken bao buns suffer a similar fate with an overpowering sauce. Flavor of the garlic mash in the Mash and Salad is great, only I'm not a fan of cold mashed potatoes. Prices are reasonable for the good sized sharing portions. Will be back for sure to explore more of the menu.

Appetisers & small bites:

Hamachi: 4/5; flavour of this dish was good, onion went well with the hamachi, particularly the dressing/side dip (wasabi + yuzu kosho + ponzu) packed a punch

Chicken skewers: 3/5; grilled to perfection - succulent and juicy, but could have done with more apparent flavour. Citrus yuzu dressing could have been more intense.

Lamb rack: 3/5; overall well cooked lamb, depending on liking perhaps could have went for a more medium doneness. Pesto dressing was a great pairing.

Eringi mushroom: 5/5; star of the grilled dishes. Well grilled, well seasoned, great flavour and texture.

Marinated cucumber: 5/5; packed a punch of flavour and spice. Second best after the mushroom.

Unagi sliders: 4/5; fluffy sesame bun, orange slice presented good acidity to cut thru the fat in the unagi, but at this point the pesto sauce and marinated cucumber in the slider was getting a bit repetitive.

Roasted duck & bakkwa bao: 4/5; bun was fluffy, flavour of duck and bakkwa was amazing, but yet again, pretty sure there was pesto sauce in there…..

Grill: Generally food from the grill was good, but perhaps diversity of condiments & dressing can be improved. Given the limited menu items, repetition of marinated cucumber and pesto dressing in several dishes gets to you after a while. No complaints about their flavours individually.

Pasta & ramen:

Duck tagliatelle: 4/5, great pasta dish, hits all notes for comfort food.

Tonkotsu ramen w grilled chicken: 2/5; yes it’s fusion but this dish was no ramen. Noodles were not al dente enough, egg was not an onsen egg, yolk was already hard, mostly it was the lack of flavour of the broth that a ramen should represent. broth flavour was neither here nor there, lacked umami, lacked spice, in the end the only saving grace was to mix the noodles with the chilli oil + garlic dressing for some flavour.

Drinks:

Oriental Negroni: 3/5, enjoyable drink though flavour intensity is far from the original negroni. The citrus aspect was refreshing - Yuzu & peach schnapps flavours were distinct. Personally would’ve liked the Campari to stand out more.

Hope this...
