I had an absolutely delightful dining experience at Jangsajang Deopbap SS15, and I can confidently say that every single dish we tried was packed with flavor and prepared with care. This hidden gem in Subang Jaya has become one of my favorite spots for Korean rice bowls.
The main star of the meal was the beef deopbap – a generous bowl of perfectly grilled marinated beef, tender and juicy, layered over fluffy white rice. The beef had a beautiful caramelization that brought out its natural sweetness, and the seasoning was just right – savory with a subtle hint of sesame and garlic. Topped with a fresh, raw egg yolk in the center, the dish not only looked Instagram-worthy but also added a creamy richness when mixed in.
Accompanying the beef were thoughtfully chosen sides in the bowl: sweet onions, fresh chopped spring onions, crunchy long beans, and a couple of seasoned mushrooms. Every bite had a balance of texture – from the softness of the meat and egg to the crunch of the vegetables. The flavor harmony in this bowl was amazing.
We also ordered some fried sides (visible in the photo on the left side), which were crispy and golden brown, served hot and freshly fried. The batter was light and not oily at all, and they paired well with the dipping sauces provided – especially the slightly tangy mayo-based sauce that was creamy and smooth.
The presentation was top-notch. Everything was served in beautiful blue-striped ceramic bowls that added an elegant touch to the meal. The chopsticks and spoon set was neatly laid out, and even the napkins were placed with care. The restaurant clearly pays attention to small details, which really enhances the dining experience.
To wash everything down, we had a refreshing iced tea that helped balance out the rich flavors from the main dishes. It was subtly sweet and cooling, perfect for Malaysia’s warm weather.
Overall, I was impressed by the quality of food, the generous portions, and the cozy ambiance at Jangsajang Deopbap SS15. The service was fast and friendly, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. Whether you’re a fan of Korean food or just love a hearty rice bowl, this place is a must-try.
I will definitely be coming back again – next time with even more friends! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a satisfying and delicious Korean meal in...

Ordered: Usamgyeop Deopbap 🥩 (RM26.90 + RM7 for set) Topped with raw white onions, french beans, scallions, and crispy lotus root. Not forgetting the star which is the charred Australianbeef belly, of course - it was so tender! 🌟 Also liked how the egg yolk elevated the consistency; every spoonful contains so much flavour that will leave you wanting more!
Each set comes with refillable soup and kimchi, plus a drink. Even without the set, you will feel stuffed really quickly because the portion is big! 😋 Tried the bongbong grape canned drink for the first time; it's not as sweet as I would expect and had some grape jelly chunks too 🍇
Chicken Tower Deopbap 🍗 (RM25.90) Another specialty by JSJ - boneless chicken was nicely coated with sweet and sour sauce, creating a promising harmony from taste and texture. The scrambled eggs deserve a plus point; mixing them into the fluffy rice reminded me of having fried rice! 🙌 It tasted as good as the beef belly rice bowl, and it's something to get if you do not consume beef...

If you’re a fan of Korean food, Jangsajang Deopbap is an absolute must-try! I visited their outlet in SS15 and was blown away by the flavors and overall experience.
I ordered the Ganjang Sacwoo Deopbap (Soy-Marinated Raw Shrimp Rice Bowl) and the Spicy Chicken Tower Deopbap (Fried Chicken Rice Bowl).
The soy-marinated shrimp rice bowl was phenomenal! The fresh shrimp, marinated for 12 hours in their house-special soy sauce, was plump, juicy, and packed with umami. The wasabi added just the right kick, and the rice cooked with kelp was a game-changer—fluffy, fragrant, and absolutely delicious.
The fried chicken rice bowl was equally satisfying. The chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated with a rich, sweet-spicy sauce that had me reaching for more. The scrambled eggs on top were generous and made the bowl even more filling.
The set meals came with side dishes (like crispy fried shrimp, potato croquettes, and chicken gyoza) and Korean canned drinks, which were a fun touch!
The portions were generous, the flavors authentic, and the service was excellent. Jangsajang Deopbap is definitely a new favorite. Highly recommend giving it a try if you’re in...
