8/10 - Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng 2/10 - Service
Arrived at 7.00 a.m. waited for 5 mins before I walked up to a server to order. There were easily 5 waiters standing around with only 2 - 3 customers (excluding me) around 7.05 a.m. I was assuming it was self-service.
While I was ordering, the employee was not really paying attention, had to repeat my order at least 2 times. Went back to my seat and 5 mins later I heard one of the employees calling for my order (not sure why they had to wait 5 mins to start processing my order). However, time wasn't an issue with me, I wasn't rushing anywhere.
Got my order around 10 mins later (again, my issue isn't so much with the time but about the service) and noticed that another customer had entered and he was being served unlike me who entered much earlier with lesser customers.
Food on the other hand was amazing, rice was fragrant and aromatic, fried chicken was crispy, a bit small but I'm not complaining, sambal was sweet and not overly spicy. All in all the food was amazing. Teh Ais was good too, not too sweet and not diluted.
Conclusion, if you're looking for a good meal early in the morning around 7 a.m. Pelita is a good option.
As for the customer service, I would assume that they are not treating all their customers fairly. I believe the factor was age as I noticed how all the (older looking) adults entering were being served except for me which was a bit unfair to me. However I don't have enough facts that proves my assumption (which is why the word "assume" is used) (This isn't my first time to Pelita and I have noticed previously that they have not treated my friends and I with much respect as compared to the other customers)

Haven't been back to Pelita since the last time their Mee goreng was so disappointing but decided to give it another go. Regret! Beyond annoyed 😠 how difficult is it to make a plain Indomie KOSONG? Not even a sunny side up to complicate matters..shouldnt have taken almost 30 minutes to be served cold, tasteless, with short broken noodle strands. The second order of roti canai came almost immediately, as if the staff had waited for my companion to decide before bringing out my order at the same time. Never again, might as well buy a whole packet from KK and cook it myself since this rubbish cost me RM5.20. Roti tasted rubbery and cold, as if premade and left there waiting for the next customer to order.
To be fair, their FRESHLY fried chicken is delicious. And if you know the ratio to mix the super spicy curries, the nasi kandar can be very nice. There is one particular staff at the nasi stand who is excellent 👌 he remembers what your previous order is and can dish up the same for you...just amazing. All the best to him ❤️
July 2024 Tried again. Nasi putih RM3 + ayam bawang RM9 something + 1/2 salted egg was ok. Maggie goreng was too salty...tasted like entire packet of perencah poured over the stir...
Read moreMamaks are always my go-to place in Malaysia. As they are easy to find, easy in the pocket and very generous on their meal servings. To top it all off, its hard to find a mamak that don't serve delicious food. Nasi Kandar Pelita is also no exception. But their one downside would be, not all options were available when me and my sister went there. And it was just 4pm! Quite astonishing. They were even out of classics like ABC or Nasi Lemak. But they had a wide range of buffet options and they also looked pretty good. Definitely will try them out next time.
However, I ordered a Roti Canai and a Limau Ais. My Roti Canai was quite small - so I asked for another roti and just a bit of daal. So, thry counted it as two. No complain about that, but why do they serve such small portion of Roti Canai? The roti is delicious, but I wasn't a big fan of their sambar. But the sambal was maybe very palatable for most Malaysians. But as a non-Malaysian, I prefer my sambal on the sweeter side which theirs wasn't. Their Limau Ais was very good, as expected. My sister ordered a Dosai and a Teh Tarik Ais. Her Dosai was really delicious. The potatoes inside the dosai bread was incredible, exquisite and definitely worth the wait and hype. Recommended for their Dosai and Limau Ais. But do visit before 4pm to get a wide...
