I will never return to Naj & Belle.
Food-wise, my carbonara mushroom fettuccine was sticking together, and the sauce was too thick, making it dry and hard to swallow. I provided feedback, and they made a new one for me, but my new fettuccine arrived when all my friends had almost finished their meals. My friend's chicken schnitzel's chicken breast was also too thick and dry, and the provided sauce was insufficient, leaving the dish bland. When we gave feedback, the staff said we needed to add RM8 for extra gravy. We agreed, but the gravy served was not as thick as the sauce initially provided with the dish. This doesn't make sense to me, as the dish should come with enough sauce. The nachos were served with unfresh guacamole. Additionally, the pan-fried salmon came with tempura prawns, but the batter on the prawns was too thick.
Besides, I specifically mentioned in my reservation that I was there for a birthday celebration. The restaurant called me around 7pm to confirm my 7:30pm reservation. I brought a cake for my friend's birthday and, upon seating, handed it to the waitress to store in the fridge.
After our meal, we requested the cake, still in its box, to be brought to our table. When we asked for plates and cutlery, they informed us that they don't allow outside food and would not provide any. I was shocked because I had mentioned the birthday celebration in my reservation, and the restaurant confirmed it without any issue. They should have informed me of their policy when confirming the reservation or when the waitress took the cake to store it. Instead, we were left unaware until we finished dinner.
Additionally, when my friend asked about the cutlery for cake, the cashier responded with a rude attitude and a stern expression. They could have communicated politely rather than showing such disrespect. The cashier's attitude was completely unacceptable and added to the overall unpleasant experience.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and we will definitely not return. Naj & Belle ruined the birthday celebration mood with bad food and even worse...
Read moreCame here to buy their famous-hands-down watermelon cake for a special birthday occasion. To everyone reading this, the price is rather steep at RM21.90 per piece, but it is definitely worth the try.
However, I'd like to share my experience with the cashier. Upon checking out my cakes at the counter, the cashier reconfirmed my order and printed out the bill for me. As i then took out my card for payment, she told me that I did not let her know earlier i was going to use a RHB card because i would be entitled to a 15% off my bill as i have reached the RM200 minimum spending. I subsequently told her that I'd like that 15% off. However, to my surprise, she told me "aaaa.. tak nak la Miss. Nanti I banyak kerja, kena void the invoice (and went on and on)" and refused to give me for what I was entitled for. I gave her a perplexed look.
I could have walked away without paying, and she would still need to void the invoice while i go elsewhere to buy a cake. However, because it was for a special birthday occasion that I'll be attending to, I let it slide with a big disappointment in my heart towards the lady. Is it a customer's responsibility to know how much discount they are entitled to for spending RMx amount at your restaurant, using specifically RHB card, or is it your part to inform the customer prior to you printing out the invoice? Is this how you be so honest to your customer that you refuse to give them the discount, after bringing the topic up and giving the the excuse of "tak nak laaaa.. nanti banyak kerja"?
To those reading, the watermelon cake is good, and if you have a RHB credit card, use that.
Naj & Belle SS15's management, please educate your staff to serve better. That cashier might be new or just brutally honest of her mistakes but refuses to fix her problems. She didn't have to bring up about the 15% discount and I would not know about it. And this review might not need to have on your...
Read moreNaj & Belle is located on the ground floor of SS15 Courtyard right at the entrance to the mall. A slightly smaller sized outlet, but is offset by using the walkway as part of the dining area, and also the outdoor area as well.
Parking is available outside SS15 Courtyard or inside the mall and it isn't hard to find one.
Popped in for a late lunch on a weekend and wasn't surprised to find a crowd there. Most were having coffee and cakes, and the vibe from this place was very chill, indeed. The main outlet is taken up with the kitchen and work area, and there is comfortable seating around. The fresco area outside is quite nice, with greenery all around.
I ordered a Nasi Ulam Ayam Bakar, which was very novel indeed. Fried rice mixed with fresh herbs, a grilled chicken with spices and also a host of other condiments arrived shortly in a very generous helping. The rice was very good and the chicken was nicely done. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend everyone to give it a try.
I also ordered a Crispy Parmesan Cheese Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich which was also very good. A very generous serving of fries accompanied the sandwich.
For dessert, I tried their burnt cheesecake which was slightly crusty at the top, but the rest of the cheesecake had a wonderful dense cake with a custard-like complexion. Super good.
Prices are a little on the high side, but you get what you pay for, and I left the place feeling satisfied, very satisfied. Will be back for the other items on the...
