Definitely one of the better hawkers with friendly and better trained staff. On our first visit, the workers from other stalls thanked us for coming (though we didn’t order from them). It was surprising but hasn’t recurred since.
Although there is a lot of seating, some areas are quite narrow. So it always worries me when workers carry hot food over patrons heads. One slip and it’s a potential major accident.
Drinks (4.5/5) - Pretty decent Cham. RM2.70 for iced, RM2.40 for small hot one.
CKT (3.5/5) - It’s not bad but the first time I ordered I requested for spicy and it came VERY spicy with lots of cili seeds. It wasn’t the best culinary experience and haven’t ordered again but will definitely try a “normal” one when cravings recur.
Prawn Wantan (4/5) - It’s definitely nice and you can order it on its own without noodles. The wanton skin is a bit on the thicker side though.
Curry Mee (2.5/5) - The Chinese aunty is quite aggressive. If you stand in front of her stall just to check out the menu, she literally starts heating up her pot while asking what you want, almost pressuring you into ordering. I didn’t like the curry mee. For the price paid, there was little ingredients as others have also mentioned.
HK style CCF (4.5/5) - Ordered the prawn and char siew mixed. Definitely one of the nicer ones I’ve eaten in KL. Will recommend to try. The boss is friendly and hardworking. Stall is clean too.
Nasi Lemak (3.5/5) - Not bad la. Can try. But make sure the Chinese male boss is around when ordering. There was once he wasn’t around and the rice was not cooked properly.
Local YTF (4/5) - OK la not bad. The sweet sauce and curry combination is decent. They have quite a selection of fried stuff which looks appetising and taste ok. There’s some fishball, fishcake and other stuff in a little container which doesn’t seem too appealing being left exposed like that.
Fried Yau Char Kuay (4.5/5) - Nice to eat when it’s freshly fried. Don’t look at the oil colour ok. Else you’ll be like KL Foodie commenters saying how it’s darker than your future. Just close one eye and order once a while.
Economy Rice (4/5) - Very friendly old couple. Food looks appetizing. Taste wise is not bad. I like that it is not salty like typical chap fan places. Will try other liu next time. Wish the quality of rice used was better though.
Kuih Muih (3/5) - Was initially very excited to try all the varieties. I thought the angku and onde2 is ok. But then there were a few variations which isn’t nice like the mochi with the peanut filling.
Wan Tan Mee (3/5) - Friendly couple. But too salty for my liking.
Thai noodles (3/5) - Is so so.
Pan Mee - Noodle texture is nice. Soup variation is salty. The dry one is nicer. Can the owners please spend a few ringgit and print out a QR code for customers to pay instead of having to walk back to the stall to pay with TnG. Going to be 2025 already loh, please add to New Year’s resolution.
Chicken Lice (1/5) - You’re probably wondering why the score is so low. I must give them credit for their char siew, which is definitely very nice. But would you still order from them if you found a cockroach in their rice? Wanted to vomit after I discovered it. Just writing this also makes me geli sial. I will never order from them again, once kena traumatised for life. I need to take a shower...
Read moreMy wife and I visited this place for our lunch on Friday 24th February 2023 . As this restaurant is very popular among residents of Bandar Puteri Puchong Selangor Malaysia it was always crowded and some how we managed to find a table to settle down. I ordered a Mee Swua Noodle soup and my wife ordered a plate of Chay Kuew Teow. The food was tasty and I like the Mee Swua Noodle soup with extra egg which cost RM9.50 and I ordered a cup of Nescafé coffee ☕ which cost RM3.30. Now comes the unlucky part for the Day's outting. As usual this place parkings is hard to come by and I parked my car 🚗 in in side lane and went to the restaurant to have lunch. After Lunch we went back to our car 🚗 and you know what happened? My car 🚗 was towed away by MPSJ enforcement Tow truck 🚒 and was towed to the MPSJ Depot which is about 2 Km located diagonally opposite Puteri Mart. My wife and I had to walk all the way to Puteri Mart and she went to buy the vegetables and I continued to go to the MPSJ Depot to collect my car 🚗. I have to pay the penalty for parking in the side lane which amounted to RM260: Compound fine RM50 Tow truck fee RM200 and for storage in the Depot which is RM10. Conclusion: The Lunch cost us RM281.30 a rather costly Lunch for the Day! So Bandar Puteri Puchong Selangor Folks please park your car 🚗 at the designated car park lots or else your car will definitely be towed away and pay a compound tickets for RM260. Rest assured that the MPSJ Tow trucks will be making their round to tow your car away and make extra money besides collection of Assessment Rate and Parking Fees. MPSJ is collecting a good money from Tow truck fee daily just imagine one car 🚗 RM260 X 100 cars in one day. That's a lot of money for MPSJ. No wonder that they have a special Cabin Office fully air-conditioned with 2 officers standing by to issue Somons . So beware folks please don't make MPSJ rich by contributing Somons compounds to its Coffer. Good Luck and happy dinning at The Unique Restaurant Bandar Puteri 5 Puchong...
Read moreKopitiam's name is the same as the anchor tenant that sells pan mee in a wide array of variations. Which means the so-called anchor tenant is the actual owner of this kopitiam.
Very popular kopitiam in the Bandar Puteri 5 area which is almost always crowded.
For this visit, I tried the wat tan yee mee from the pan mee stall (kopitiam owner cum anchor tenant) and curry mee from the curry mee stall.
Wat tan yee mee (RM10) is indeed unique, living up to the name of the shop and stall. Exactly like wat tan noodle from any dai chau or xiu chau stall but served in a bowl. Taste is just as good and as smooth as can be.
Curry mee (RM10) was however not up to par. Lacks depth in terms of flavour and kick.
Iced coffee (RM2.90) was good - sufficiently rich and creamy.
This is a kopitiam that spans across multiple shop lots. It's very cluttered and can be quite stuffy depending on where you sit.
There are about twenty stalls offering a good variety of hawker fare. One stall that captured my attention is the nasi lemak vendor which has curry pork on its menu. This is what I'll try on my next visit.
Toilet Score: Usual kopitiam standard. Be careful with the wet floor though.
