SO IRRESPONSIBLE. but before that, let me just say that their satay is one of the best. not THE BEST 23/4: Whatsapp the GIVEN ONE AND ONLY NUM to ask for 1- satay price - yes they gave a list with price 2- how can i placed my order - yes they gave an order sheet 3- charges to deliver to my workplace - yes but they canโ€™t tell how much until they got a rider on the delivery day

24/4: reconfirmed the satay place (we assumed itโ€™s far from workplace or got the wrong outlet or smtg hence why they only can tell how much until they got a rider) - yes itโ€™s the right one (USJ), and so placed order accordingly. of course the next thing you do IS YOU ASK HOW MUCH - did not get a reply

25/4: Asked for confirmation about the order, delivery & payment updates - received a voice note: โ€˜total kita tak boleh bagi, sebab belum delivery. delivery ni dia charge berubah ubah, tak menentu. bukan tetap. jadi kita kena tunggu, panggil, baru tahu berapa harga. kita akan masuk dalam bil, dah dapat bil, baru bayar. baru bayar onlineโ€™ (isnโ€™t this rubbish, whatโ€™s the point of ordering in advance then?)

Asked for clarification on top of the voice note, order was ALREADY PLACED.

26/4: Raya Potluck day. Delivery to reach by 12pm. In conclusion, got ghosted. no reply, called many times but just ended up voice note and auto message: โ€˜RM0. TextBack (dari +60173585446): Hi, saya sedang bercakap di telefon. Sila hubungi saya kemudian. Terima kasih.โ€™

So disappointed. Imagine youโ€™re the only one that came empty handed. I TOLD THEM YOUR SATAY ARE FKIN GOOD OK.

Moral of the story, before you decide to order for your next corporate function. PLEASE DONโ€™T BOTHER OR ELSE YOU WILL BE SO MALU LIKE ME TODAY OMFG

Thanks for reading, I apologize if my review came across as overly lengthy or harsh. My intention was simply to share my experience, and I hope it can contribute to...

Food was great. The satays are big (RM1.20 for chicken and RM1.50 for beef) and the ketupat (RM1.20) is the old-school style where it's woven. Kuah kacang is tasty and on the sweet-side. No complaints about the packet nasi lemak (RM1) and it's served hot but I would not recommend eating it together if you're having satay + ketupat as you will be stuffed. Had "teh ais" (RM3) and it was good too

Service is good as the waiter / waitress will promptly come to your table to give you a piece of paper to write down your order and I experienced no problem whatsoever upon payment with the friendly kakak manning the counter. Atmosphere, however, is a bit on the warm-side (could be due to current hot weather) despite the restaurant having tons of fans on their ceiling. Also a bit dark in the evening which could be an effort by them to save on electricity

Anyway, still highly recommend as the satay are good and I don't have to travel all the way to Kajang to have my Haji Samuri fix. Will definitely be back for more

Walk & Ride (SJ) Info: The restaurant is located at USJ Sentral which is a short 9 minutes walk (650m) from the USJ7 LRT station. Do exercise caution as there's no proper walking path along the right of Persiaran Subang Permai but if you cross over to Damen Mall's side, then there's a proper...

Worst place to have sate. We ordered chicken, beef and mutton and they were served cold. We told the waiter and he said yeah they bakar and leave itโ€ฆ so we said ok, can you warm them up? He took them back and came back after a while and they were only slightly warmer. They werenโ€™t even warm, just not cold like before.

For the amount of sate we ordered and for 4 pax, we were only served cucumber and onions for one.

As for the sate, it was wayyyy too sweet, then all of us couldnโ€™t finish it. Can you imagine eating cold and sickly sweet sate?

The worst part is, my father in law told the cashier they were cold, the cucumber wasnโ€™t enough, and it was too sweet, and the cashier just shook his shoulder like whatever. Yeah. Never coming back here again. Youโ€™re better off eating fresh halal sate at USJ 16 (in front of Yaya) and USJ 17 (Malay couple that sells in front of the Chinese food court...

Satays can be very subjective, but most of my family and friends agree that Retro Satay is their favorite. The meat is tasty, tender and chunky and not overcooked. Just like most, I prefer the Chicken & beef satay, as there is not much fat in it, thus you can feel the meaty feeling throughout your eating experience. in my opinion the service is quite good and efficient, and its worth the wait. So far, I never had to wait more than 10 minutes, maybe 15 minute tops. The best part is, its freakin 24 hours!!!!! my friends and I love to eat the satay after our futsal session mostly around 2-3am. Oh before I forgot, they serve ketupat here instead or nasi impit which I find very delicious

Authentic Kajang satay from this place which is apparently an outlet of the famous one from Kajang. The notable offerings from this place are actually the satay perut which is made from tripe. Not an easy feat to pull off getting the satay perut cooked correctly without making the tripe hard or tough. The other house specialty from this place is the one ringgit nasi lemak bungkus daun pisang which just hits the right spot, and at a ringgit a serving is hard to beat as an anytime snack. Highly recommended and best come in between rush hours as seating is limited within. Do note that the outlet has not shifted to the new premises on the block behind the old outlet since.
