Note: only 1 star because google does not allow anything lesser. Service: 0/10 We had reserved a table but when we went there, the table was dirty and though the table was set, there was only 1 menu for 4 pax. We called repeatedly for the menu but no one bothered to find out what we needed. They just looked at us and told us later and continued with their business (for the record, the later never came). Looking at the quality of service, for a moment, I thought that I was in a kopitiam or a roadside stall. The waiters slammed the plates down and when there was some questions about the order slip, they passed the issue around. In addition to that, the wrong dish was served and no one seemed to be able to take the blame and started pushing it around. When they filled the glasses, they did not even bother asking what drinks we wanted before pouring it in and later on by some odd reason, the kettle ended up on our table, waiting for us to serve ourselves. The rice was also served terribly slow and we had to ask for it twice before it was actually served. All in all, service was terrible (5% service tax) and if something was wrong you would just be able to witness a scene where everyone just pushes the blame around. Although this was during CNY, I don't see it as a valid excuse as this restaurant has been around for some years now and should know that it is a peak season and more hands would be required.
Quality of food: 1/10 The food was a huge disappointment. We ordered chicken, the chicken was lukewarm and the other things like abalone which were in the dish was half lukewarm and half cold. The chicken tasted heavily of MSG (in particular, the maggie chicken packet). The vegetable was cold, and for some reason, bitter (not bittergourd). The pork was probably the warmest thing on the table but even so, it just had a little of temperature. The 1 point goes to the yee sang. We ordered a fruit one and the fruits probably tasted the best among the dishes on the table.
Menu: 0/10 The menu selection was really small. The choices were restricted to a "CNY menu" which was really troubling as it was a ridiculously small selection with unreasonably high price, especially in consideration of the quality of food as per above.
Overall: 0/10 All in all, not a place I would return to....
Read moreHad a recent dinner with a group of friends at Seafood Legend Restaurant in Bandar Puchong Jaya, Puchong.
The meal left me with several thoughts. Most of their set menus are priced above RM120++ a head (so above RM1,000++ for a table of 8. So this menu at RM388++ for 8 pax was certainly value for money.
The restaurant could have done better treating its guests even if we went for the low cost menu. They seem to want to remind you that you went for the cheap menu hence will not be receiving good service. 🤣
Not allowed to reserve a private room when ordering this set menu. This despite the restaurant being quite dead on a rainy week day. It was largely empty.
Not allowed to have the dishes served course by course. All courses served within 10 mins so quality of food deteriorates as it gets cold.
Taste wise, it’s was relatively good. Quality wise, some dishes were good, others OK and a couple less than desirable.
The “loong tan” (Deep Sea Giant Garoupa) was very good. Fish did not smell “fishy”, texture upon steaming was good and the soy sauce based baste was delicious.
Chicken, pork trotter, roast pork, fish head soup & desserts were decent if not spectacular.
The prawns tasted yummy but a number of them had flesh sticking to the skin. A sure sign of less than fresh prawns.
The veg was also quite fibrous, likely a little old.
Overall, the chef’s cooking skills made this an enjoyable dinner and the great company of friends (most of whom know each other 30+ years) made for a delightful night...
Read morefoods n drinks is not hot. the only place don't allowed self-serve.
hygiene problem, when we complain the tea is not hot. the temporary staff pour glass tea back into tea kettle. mix tea with hot water.
most of restaurant i visited, they allowed guest get hot tea them-self at the bar(never failed me) we are trying to be friendly, helpful & independent. got sound by permanent staff there because of self refill hot tea. we trying to reduce the burden on temporary staff (is common everywhere). if you can't teach a temporary staff at least go around/spot check the table and ask the guest.
after the so called replace the hot kettle, when serve drink is still cold. I'm speechless. serious pity other guest some elderly & young kid not able get hot tea.
