Laos Thai cuisine is a delightful blend of flavors, textures, and aromas. Here's a review of some popular Thai dishes I have.
Tom Yam: This iconic Thai soup is known for its hot and sour flavors, often enhanced with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and fresh lime juice. It's typically made with shrimp (Tom Yam Goong) or chicken (Tom Yam Gai). The broth is both spicy and tangy, making it a perfect starter to awaken your taste buds.
Lemongrass Pork Belly: Thai-style crispy pork belly, often known as "Moo Krob," is my favorite. The pork is marinated, slow-cooked, and then deep-fried to achieve a crispy exterior while keeping the inside tender and juicy. It's usually served with a tangy dipping sauce or incorporated into stir-fried dishes.
Pandan Chicken: This dish features marinated chicken pieces wrapped in pandan leaves and then deep-fried. The pandan leaves infuse the chicken with a unique aroma and flavor, making it incredibly fragrant and delicious. It's often served with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce.
Papaya Salad (Som Tum): A refreshing and spicy salad made from shredded green papaya, tomatoes, green beans, peanuts, and dried shrimp, all tossed in a tangy dressing of lime juice, fish sauce, and chilies. It's a perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors.
Fried Eggs: Thai-style fried eggs, or "Kai Jeow," are typically fluffy and crispy. They are often served with rice and a side of chili sauce. Sometimes, they are made with minced pork or other ingredients mixed into the egg before frying.
These dishes together create a well-rounded Thai meal that showcases the diversity and richness of Thai cuisine.

Read moreThis place is an easy 5/5. If you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine, especially marinated raw seafood, then look no further. This is our second visit (first was in their Segambut HQ outlet) and the food here is still very much excellent.
We ordered the marinated raw mud crab and it was superb; it's extremely fresh and delicious, it was an absolute joy devouring it. The tomyam goong is one of the best we could find in the area. The pad kra pao is very good too.
But the Thai chicken rice is a surprise. The entire chicken leg is beautifully de-boned, the texture is extremely smooth and by going with the rice and the fried minced garlic, it is absolutely sublime. We've seen rave reviews for this chicken rice on social media and it really shows. It has become a must-have whenever I come back.
Sure, the prices are on the higher end of the spectrum, however that's justifiable given that the ingredients, including the rice, are imported from Thailand. In the grand scheme of things, it's absolutely worth it. Not to mention the owner who is very polite and welcoming throughout our time at the establishment.
We'll definitely be back here whenever our Thai...
