Mek Awang Cafe — Restaurant in Terengganu

Service was very bad!! Not sure if they have too many customers that they don’t bother to pay attention to the customers.

First they took my order wrongly. When I specifically ordered my camomile tea, they gave me caramel chocolate instead. Had to reorder a new camomile tea again at the same time had to pay for the caramel chocolate that I don’t even drink!

Then the salad I ordered I had to ask for a few times in order to get them to prepare it.

Ok when camomile tea arrived, it was tasteless, tasteless because the tea bag was definitely a few times used before they gave it to me. So what I did was, I ordered another teabag to put into the one that I was having. In the end, they took the teapot and add warm water instead and left the same tea bag inside the teapot. It was so frustrating and I left without finishing the foods and drinks and went next door (vegan restaurant) which serves...

A more modern cafe in the midst of traditional kopitiams in the china town area of KT. The decor are still nice, modern homey feel. Lighting is good, "insta-worthy" ambience.

They offer fusion dishes at about the average price point around the area.

Not to nitpick, but the service took longer than expected, I bought some take aways for dinner.

The curry chicken was so-so, nothing astounding. The nachos reminded me of Mission tortilla chips. Maybe they used those, maybe not, who knows.

Overall, satisfied, took a few cheeky pictures while my order was taking a lot more time...

nice cosy place. a little hard to get car park aeound this area. you’d be better off parking a bit away and walk here.

great centre court they have. decorated nicely.

got cakes and waffles and coffee.

my coffee was a little lukewarm rather than coffee hot. the taste was not bad at all. decorated nicely too.

tha waffle was a little bit disappointing. good combination of choc ice cream and banana, but just concrete hard if i compare it with a&w...
