Hiyala Mariyaad Cafe' — Restaurant in Maafushi Island

Maafushi is an islandocated in the indian ocean. It is one the more than 1300 islands of the Maldives Republic. As all the Maldivian islands, it has a very nice shore that is not very deep. Water sports and activities are available there. Snorkeling, water skiing, water skating, diving .... You have many souvenir shops to choose from. There prices are reasonable too.

Hiyala restaurant is widely known in Maafoushi Island. The menu provides you many different choices. You can find sandwiches like submarines , burgers and club sandwiches. Pizzas are available also. Chicken with rice is found there with several flavors. There is a special section is the menu for sea food. Menu items are frominternational Cuisine I tried almost all sections in the menu. I guarantee that you will find it all delicious. Also you will find dessert in the menu. Prices there are very reasonable. Believe me, its a very good choice. A local man told me about it. Sometimes you can find it nearly full. That is because people there and tourists prefer it over other restaurants there. Service is very nice. They always provide what you ask for. Downsides: Sometimes they take long preparing your food even though you are alone!! Flies are annoying. You have to deal with that issue. They don't have a big umbrella over the tables. The menu looked great and the staff friendly. When my friend tried to order a whole grilled chicken, the waiter advised that the cooking time is about 45 min and recommended to choose something else if we were hungry. We thanked him and ordered some soup, chicken cordon bleu, small lobster with pasta and reef fish steak and some juice. First came the chicken. Then came a juice for one of us. Then soups. We were already in the restaurant for an hour. Then some more juice. Then we reminded the waiter about the lobster and he promised to bring it in ten minutes. When the lobster came, we asked about the pasta. Another ten minutes. What about the reef fish? It was completely forgotten! I was ready to go home semi-hungry, because we came at 8 pm and it was already 10pm. Finally the fish was brought... I don’t complain about the food, it was good, but the service was terrible and the owner didn’t even offer to drop the 10% service charge or offer us some discount. I can not recommend this place - only if you are ready for constant monitoring of what is going on...

A Hidden Gem with Big Portions and Great Service!

We had a delightful lunch here and were thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, served in generous portions that are perfect for sharing – even the seafood biryani could easily feed two! It came packed with fresh prawns, crab, octopus, fish, mussels, and even boiled egg – all bursting with flavour.

The curry and rice were comforting and aromatic, and the pineapple fried rice served in a carved-out pineapple was not only creative but also tasty. Drinks were refreshing, and the blue mocktail with citrus slices was a great touch.

The restaurant is clean, air-conditioned, and has a romantic vibe. It’s also family-friendly – there are baby chairs available and even fans to keep you comfortable. Service was excellent – the waitress was very attentive and helpful throughout.

Kami menikmati makan tengah hari yang sangat memuaskan di sini. Makanannya sangat sedap, dan saiz hidangannya sangat besar – sesuai untuk dikongsi berdua! Hidangan nasi briyani seafood memang luar biasa – penuh dengan udang besar, ketam, sotong, ikan, kupang dan telur rebus – semuanya segar dan penuh rasa.

Kari dan nasi putih yang disajikan sangat menyelerakan dan wangi. Nasi goreng nanas yang dihidangkan dalam buah nanas juga sangat menarik dan sedap. Minuman biru dengan hirisan sitrus sangat menyegarkan – memang menambah selera.

Restoran ini bersih, berhawa dingin, dan mempunyai suasana romantik. Sesuai juga untuk keluarga – ada kerusi bayi dan kipas disediakan untuk keselesaan. Layanan pun tip-top – pelayan sangat prihatin dan mesra.
