Tuktuk Street — Restaurant in Malé

This place is overhyped by select few on social media. The service is poor and some of the food doesn’t taste as “authentic” as some claim it to be. It’s mediocre at best. More so, the offering of some food items seems to be biased as when we asked for jalebis we were told they were out of it for the day. But not even 10 minutes later we saw a plate of jalebis being served to some indian customers who had arrived after us. Unsure whether there is a pre-order or reservation service that hasn’t been advertised yet but it does feel odd.

We visited Tuktuk Street for dinner and ordered the Bombay Biryani, which was priced at MVR 160. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The rice was undercooked, and the chicken was not properly cooked or cleaned. This affected the overall taste and quality of the meal. Atmosphere is really good and kindoff Indian streets vibe. Service is also not disappointing. Not too good though. Taste is not something we've expected. Missing Indian authenticity, to be honest Jalebi was too good. They should add more dishes and improve the taste. This place has potential but may be people are too lazy...
