Good food (we had sandwiches and one of the pastas), nice presentation, great atmosphere with pleasant music (even the way they positioned the surround boxes was very smart as you can listen to the beat and still talk without having to shout). But some staff were not so great. We called to check availability and the guy was amazing with the customer service. He let us know that we'd have roughly an hour as they were fully booked. We agreed to that, so no issues until there. But when we arrived, the waitress supervisor was sharp and made us feel uncomfortable reminding us that we were in a rush (waitress that was actually attending us bringing food and drinks was super nice despite her supervisor's lack of sympathy). She was being inconvenient with "suggestions" but clearly rushing us to decide. We asked for the happy hour drinks just to have something while we're waiting for the food, and they were ridiculously small and extremely pricey. Don't want to have happy hour drinks, just take them out of the menu, otherwise do it properly. I had better happy hour drinks in other places paying slightly less or even the same but at least having decent drinks, not just shots. Then food took a while to come and when it came, we ate under the looks of the waitress supervisor. When we left, tables weren't not even 30% of the full capacity of the place. I understand the marketing behind the fully booked, but there are always ways of making customers feel special and that you're "bending" the rules just to have then there. Otherwise if you're really fully booked, just decline politely and offer drinks area as an option for that night. Customer service needs to improve in Malta but I was expecting...
Read moreWill not be going back there any time soon.
We started by ordering sushi to share as starters, and food was very good. So we started with a very positive note.
We also ordered pasta and risotto. One of the dishes was lobster tagliatelle and the other was tagliatelli with bacon and calamari. Risotto was a duck risotto.
The lobster pasta was expensive, but initially we thougth it might be worth it. It wasnt.... :/
Both pasta dishes had way too souce, the pasta was not well prepared, and was very basic. Both dishes had the same sauce (we were expecting something a little bit better with lobster) the sauce tasted like a canned ready made sauce. The risotto was also dry and not well coocked.
We ended very disappointed with main course.
Finally we ordered desserts, and we ended up with soup like dishes. Both desserts were drenched with sauce to the point that both the chocolate fudge and the pudding were soggy. And it doesnt seem to have been a mistake as they served them in bowls not plates like typical desserts.
To make things worse food was expensive. We would not have minded paying more if the quality was good, but it was not.
A big shame, as the sushi chef seems to be the only one to know what s/he is doing.
1st time there and most likely the last, food...
Read moreAmazing place to dine out. The food is amazing especially the funghi tartufata pizza.
As a starter we took the trio of sausages , they were smokey and the taste was perfectly balanced with the mango based sauce.
If you are a tartufo lover the pizza is a must have!!!
The Other dish was spaghetti with pisatacio and burrata. The dish was again well balanced creamy and nutty with a great taste of pisatacio.
The portions are also generous and the prices are fair with the dish's level of choice.
As for desert we ordered the sticky toffee pudding and a few assortments of small deserts. (Christmas cake , Cookie Crunch and Chocolate lolly)
The small deserts were quite balanced and a perfect fit for just that little something sweet. As for the pudding it was out of the 'mondo' pun intended 😂 Highly suggest you try it if you love the sweet caramel and toffee flavour.
Parking is available as well so it's also a convenient place to visit. Current as of the post of this review parking is validated as well.
Big well done to the chefs for the perfect food that we were served today and for the waiting staff that somehow with a fully packed restaurant we never had an empty plate or glass for more...
