How this place gets so many good reviews, I'll never know! I went just once, got a bowl of lentil soup and a slice of what looked like mozzarella and spinach borek ( the waiter confirmed it was borek). He reheated it, but when it arrived, it was clear that it wasn't borek: the pastry inside was very chewy and rubbery, nothing to do with borek. I couldn't finish it. The soup was ok, if underseasoned, I had to add quite a lot of salt to give it some flavour. When I came to pay, I noticed on the receipt that I had been overcharged for the soup (7.50€ instead of the 6.50€ displayed on the food counter). I raised it, but the waiter tried to insist that prices haf changed recently. I insisted and got the difference back, but clearly he wasn't happy. What's more, 6.50€ for a bowl of soup is massively overpriced anyway. This is a typical tourist trap: nice location but subpar food and service. Not recommended, won't...
Read moreExcept of the lovely nice waitress .. everything was bad. I ordered Platter1 woth different salads and I chose couscous as one of the 5 salads. IT WAS BAD AND INEDIBLE, I think it stayed too much in the heat and it went bad. I asked for the plate to be replaced, but all they did is take the couscous out and add some more potato (which was not that good too), and they brought me back the same plate, and the meat still had some couscous on it. They didn't even add another type of salad (the plate said it comes with 5 types, so I paid to have 5 ..) but not changing the plate said it all. AND THEN, WE WERE GREATED BY A SMALL COCKROACH on the sofa I was staying with my daughter on. I am so scared of bugs, but because I thought it was a fly I just tried to get it away from my kid but it hit the wall hhhh it didn't fly.
Overall, it was...
Read moreToo long didn't read :- quality is extremely mediocre at best, abysmal portions(stingy), and these plates are some of the most expensive Turkish on the island, literally go anywhere else. Posh Turkish, the Turkish in Gzira next to the Asian market or even kebab factory are better priced options that taste better and fill you out more.
Such a regrettable eat, would have been better served going to sleep hungry!(Which I did anyway)
90% of the plates are filler, so I find it pretty criminal that they charge you no less than 15 euros for a plate of whatever sad slop they've had on display that day. Give me some real food, almost all of their salads are practically untouched rabbit food, and they have the gall to charge for fries separately. Not even giving you bread to go with your already abysmally...
