Sicilian Food by Roby — Restaurant in Gżira

I went with friends at the end of January and had a good meal, which is why I returned for dinner with my girlfriend. However, the experience was terrible, and here's why: there wasn't what we requested for the starter nor were the mashed potatoes and baked potatoes available, but okay, these things happen. So, we then ordered capponata as a starter which arrived after the main courses, but okay (again). However, the problem was with the beef tagliata, which was really tough and cold. I asked the waitress about it and explained, and requested if she could invite the Italian chef to discuss it (as I’m Italian). She took the plate away and returned with the same plate reheated, resulting in an even worse outcome. The chef or manager didn't even show up. None of the staff tried to resolve the situation by accommodating me or offering an alternative, zero. So, I sent it back and went to pay the bill amidst the staff's indifference; of course, I was still charged for the tagliata, no discount or any kind of apology..........Zero customer care, zero professionalism from the staff (and management) which, as too often happens in Malta, is not properly trained. Definitely not...

We had a Margherita and a Pistachiosa pizza, and both were absolutely delicious! The dough was thin, oven-baked, and full of flavour. The presentation and quality of the ingredients were excellent – everything looked and tasted super fresh.

The staff was really friendly and the service was fast, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal.

Great value for money too – we would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Sicilian-style...

We visited this lovely little place twice during our holiday in Malta, and it instantly became one of our absolute favorites. Both the pizza and the spaghetti are truly next level – fresh, authentic, and bursting with flavor.
