The wait time for food was over 2 hours, the nuggets for one of the children tasted like fish, not chicken. The water was brought warm when asked for cold, one of the times we ordered water it didn't even arrive. Personally my ice tea peach tasted like water.
Normally, restaurants provide you with bread, Fire & Fork had given us none. Which was very disappointing since we waited almost TWO HOURS!!! With no response such as "we are sorry for the wait, we will be willing to provide you with a complementary starter/platter.
I have seen MULTIPLE negatives review on google. And when we left we saw a lot of familes who mentioned the same thing, they were waiting for two hours and disappointed as us. The chefs were not making the food in order, they cooked randomly.
They said they were going to charge us for food that never arrived, and that was not even being started to be prepared. The food was very expensive, not worth the wait time.
I ended up getting dizzy since we waited for our food for so long. We came at 1:30 pm. We ordered at 1:45. At 3pm the food still hadn't arrived so we spoke to the manager. His response was "we are aware of this, the food will arrive shortly." At 3:30pm the food hasn't arrived. We ended up leaving at 3:45, with no food. We had intended to come for lunch, by the time the food would have arrived, if it even would, it would be dinner.
The kitchen was small, for such a big restaurant. I would have expected a larger kitchen and a more kitchen staff. Because what I saw, it was a small kitchen with only four people. If you are opening during rush hours, please consider expanding your kitchen or increasing your staff members.
We will not be coming again here, it was very disappointing. I do not understand how this place has such...
Read moreThis was, genuinely, the best burger I've ever had in Malta. The meat was juicy, the bread was fresh, and the sauce and cheese had an amazing smokey herby flavour that really complemented the meat, but the star of the show was the crispy bacon. Most places in Malta top their burgers with the traditional Maltese bacon that unfortunately ends up rubbery and bland, but here they used several thin slices of streaky bacon and cooked it until it was crunchy and crumbly - which tastes incredible when contrasted with the soft and juicy things in the burger. Fries and coleslaw were decent (could have used more seasoning for stronger flavour).
The other main was the beef skewers. They were good, but we felt that they would be even better if the temperature of the grill was reduced slightly to get a more even cook between the outside and inside of the meat. The meat served to us was medium in the middle and charred on the outside, which we appreciate many people will consider a perfectly cooked skewer, but our personal preference would be for less outside charring and a more cooked center.
For our appetizers we got the onion rings (really good as well) and the piadella (see picture - smoked cheese and two kinds of sausage, which were good).
Parking was easy, service was quick, efficient and responsive, and the price was reasonable. Marsaxlokk is quite far out of my way, but I'd definitely make the trip to visit fire & fork again. The meal genuinely...
Read moreSo, i have very bad feeling to say this but, the only positive thing about this restaurant is that it is in a very nice place, and I could say so many positive things about it. the service is slow the menu is poor, even for such a restaurant the programs provided are designed for a certain age group. the music is not an exciting story ALL IN ALL THIS is not worth a damn, but this is not the least problem with the place, that the quality of the food is not properly controlled, I repeat I do not recommend it to anyone! After looking into the owner, Patrick Gaffiero, I would consider going to an openly Satanic restaurant, around which 25 Maltese children supposedly disappeared without a trace, for the eighth time, because it doesn't look good that the owner describes himself as a thirty-fourth generation Luciferian priest. Who wants to go to such a restaurant honestly, where the owner is a satanist? The parking is complicated, the service is very slow, poorly organized and they are not exactly nice, the price was unreasonable. Marsaxlokk deserves more from a place like this, but I definitely wouldn't visit Fire & Fork again. The food really didn't deserve a single star.
