We went there as a party of three, with the modest intention of simply getting a bite to eat. Our request for a table in the shade was met with an air of mild irritation from the staff — a response that, while not egregious, hardly corresponds to what one might reasonably expect in the realm of hospitality.
Upon arriving at the table, we were greeted not by comfort but by shards of glass upon the ground — a circumstance somewhat ill-suited to those wearing open shoes. Out of courtesy, I refrained from troubling the staff with this discovery, so as not to further impose upon them.
As one of our party was concluding a telephone call, the placing of our order was, I concede, delayed. Such occurrences are entirely understandable. Yet even once we had signaled our readiness, it required a rather protracted interval before our order could actually be taken.
For a restaurant that was, shall we say, not overly encumbered by patrons, the subsequent wait for the food proved disproportionately long: first a chicken salad, followed at a respectful distance of five minutes by the other two dishes, as though simultaneity were an impractical aspiration.
The salad itself exhibited a number of brown blemishes — items that, by rights, should have embarked upon a one-way journey to the kitchen refuse, rather than making their public appearance at the guest’s table. The other dishes, to be fair, were satisfactory.
To their credit, the bill was presented alongside the food, thus compensating, if only marginally, for the involuntary delay. The staff were never openly discourteous, yet it was difficult to dispel the impression that our presence was not entirely welcomed.
In conclusion: those with ample time and no particular concern about dining in an atmosphere of polite indifference may indeed find...
Read moreI don't like to leave negative reviews. I'm sure they were busy for Sunday lunch. We were so happy to find a table right by the water which was special. We ordered beer and sprite and our meals, no entree as we wanted to eat quick and go. After 20 minutes in had to ask for our drinks. After 40 minutes I asked if they had forgotten our order? It came within 5 minutes. The local fish was recommended and it was undercooked as far as I'm concerned and I eat fish weekly. Michelle's octopus pasta was underwhelming considering the wait time. The other tables seemed to have nice dishes. I didn't finish my fish. We paid and left. One table placed an order and it didn't go to the kitchen. It was a little unorganized. My advice is to give it a try and keep on top...
