Rising Sun — Restaurant in Marsaxlokk

If zero stars was an option, I would have given rising sun that. We waited 45 minutes for 4 bowls of pasta (we ordered fried calimari as an entree but it never came.) 3 of us ordered the calamari pasta, and it came lukewarm, served in a baking dish. The calimari itself was over cooked and severely under seasoned. The Maltese pasta came with the promise of sausages and mushrooms. We counted exactly one mushroom and zero sausages (apparently they were hiding in the sauce..? It tasted like tomato paste). To add insult to injury, we were told that the long wait was because ‘we were a large group.’ However, we watched 4 other couples arrive, order, eat their food, pay and leave in the time it took for ours to come out. We paid 22.50eu for the 3 pints and 3 halves of warm Cisk, and two bottles of mineral water that we used to keep our growling tummies at bay.

TL:DR - Don’t bother if you’re not a local. Your money is much better spent elsewhere e.g Sphinx Pastizzis - the chicken and mushroom is...

We went there the last weekend in December. We were seated and ignored for 30 minutes. Everytime we tried to speak with the waiter she said she was busy. 3 tables were seated next to us,taken their order and served. They even asked us to move to seat other people. At that time we confronted the waiter and she admitted the service was terrible. We had 3 children with us very ansious. They brought us the wrong drinks, no cutlery, one glass missing. We were appalled. The food was ok , but reading the other reviews we were just lucky. The place inside was filthy, the waiters and the people that charged us very rude, they gave us the receipt hand written. We spend 94 euros. So, you would think at least they would be polite when you pay. They were not.We ran away...

May god have mercy on your soul. We stopped outside for a drink only because it was where our Uber was meeting us. Numerous groups came up and walked ways from the food. Man beside us waited for 10 minutes for service then went in to order.......then cam e back out to say they didn't have at least half the menu available 😅 and if you want a laugh I recommend just using the toilet. It's the staff toilet. You have to walk behind the counter/bar and oast the absolutely filthy kitchen. Also it's cash only. And I saw why .......I watched someone pay and then when they looked at their change they realised they'd been overcharged. And guess what.......cash only......no refunds. Also be careful about the happy hour......it's not what the signs...
