Well - having read the reviews prior to going on holiday for this restaurant one had to try it out.
The restaurant is situated around half-way down the steep hill to the beach from the Pergola Hotel where I was staying. To be honest it didn't look much from the outside, however, the interior was lovely.
I was greeted by Anisha on my lunchtime visit and sat inside, which was a good temperature for relaxing. You can sit outside if you are a sun-bunny but I want to enjoy my food not roast on the terrace at lunchtime, but this would be great in evening. This restaurant has a good ambiance, comfortable seating and very relaxing.
As it was lunch I was having I didn't want a massive meal. Whilst I was waiting for my fish, warm bread (in a bag), oil and hummus was brought complimentary - and the bread was superb, which I daubed with humus and devoured.
I had a glass of Gavi which was excellent - so many wines, are, to put it bluntly, rubbish, but this glass of wine hit the spot and went down very well. It complimented the lunch I was to have.
I'd ordered Wild Sea Bass which was on a bed of broccoli and some sort of mash but wasn't mash, with salad. This dish was divine, OMG the fish was awesome, so was the mash thing with a lovely salad.
For dessert I had something that I've never seen anywhere outside Italy, and that was Affogalo. This is Vanilla ice-cream (a decent one) topped with Espresso Coffee and an Italian bicy. The sweetness of the ice-cream was offset by the slightly bitter coffee. It was wonderful - took me back to my many visits to Italy. I was told that the proprietor of this Restaurant was actually Italian - so no surprise there with the gorgeous food.
I had a latte as well and it was pretty much like any other latte - not exception but good.
Raj and Anisha were wonderful members of staff that made sure I was comfortable and made my visit extremely pleasant.
The meal was sensibly priced and well worth the money.
I turned up in shorts and t-shirt as I'd been at the beach. At lunchtimes, I think you can get away with this. Probably during the day and early evening dress can be casual, however, I feel this restaurant is a fine place to dress up for a great dining experience in the evening.
So a big thank you to this restaurant for a very lovely lunch and you deserve the 5 stars...
Read moreWe enjoy good food served by knowledgeable people in a great ambiance. We were not disappointed at all. We decided to try one80 because of the '40' 1* reviews with scathing comments about the staff and food. I find it interesting that well over 1000 people have rated this chain of 3 restaurants 5* but 40 were so unhappy. Any review will bring attention! We booked online ~ easy, email confirmation received. We arrived 10mins early @ 19:20 and parked with ease. We were delighted by the clean, modern and beautiful exterior. Immediately acknowledged by 2 staff members one being an attentive Sicilian gentleman, shown to our seats (which were very comfortable). The decor of this vast area is very subtle and clever, with large floor-to-ceiling furniture units and gently hanging screen curtaining of cotton 'spaghetti'. Expansive mirrors spun the illusion of the infinite. Upon request a bottle of Sicilian Grillo arrived in an unusual ice 'bag' loved this idea. It would appear the staff are happy to work in this sumptuous environment as they were pleased to serve you, to advise and explain the menu. The food was prepared from high-quality ingredients this much was obvious to me. I had the chicken supreme on a bed of pancetta and chicory, mashed potato & with grilled vegetables consisting of carrots/radish/courgette. (the carrot batons were just a little too al dente for me though) with a little red wine jus (I think). Delicious! My husband decided on the Beef Wellington which was served medium with a large roasted red onion and plenty of roasted potatoes. The pastry was perfect, I tried a mouthful of the beef (so juicy) however there was a small area that was 'chewy', not due to preperation though. Each plate of food was plentiful, hot and beautifully presented. The lighting was subtle and easy on the eye. The absence of sports tv on huge screens was a delight for me as I enjoy preparing and serving good food for my family and guests to my home and wish them to concentrate on the enjoyment of food and the conversation. My only complaint (wink wink) is there is not a one80 in Morecambe! Thank you for keeping the promises you heralded of great food, great service in...

The setting itself is beautiful, with panoramic views over Mellieħa that create a serene and scenic backdrop—especially during the day. The open terrace is ideal for enjoying a sunny Mediterranean afternoon with family.
The food? Delicious and beautifully presented. We shared several dishes and were impressed by the freshness and balance of flavors in each one. From the starters to the mains and even the desserts, everything tasted thoughtfully prepared and executed with skill. The seafood was especially fresh, and the local ingredients really stood out.
The drinks menu offered a great variety, including some local wines and expertly crafted cocktails, which paired perfectly with our meal. Everything felt well-curated, from the plating to the pace of service.
