Exceptional dinner with a view! We had a wonderful dinner at Churchill Restaurant in Munxar. The service was outstanding; genuinely kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from the start. The view over Munxar Bay at sunset was absolutely stunning. Dining with that peaceful, scenic backdrop was a real treat. We’re so glad we picked this spot after checking out several in the area, especially with such reasonable prices, which stood out compared to other restaurants nearby that had less favourable reviews. I had the Gozitana pizza, topped with Maltese sausage and Gozo cheese; delicious and a great way to try something local. The seafood risotto and seafood pasta were also rich in flavour and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, too, which was much appreciated. One thing we especially loved was finding a short story about the restaurant’s name and origins on the menu. That kind of personal touch really shows the family warmth and care behind the establishment; it makes the experience even more memorable. Definitely recommended, even if Munxar isn’t on your route; it’s worth the extra drive if you’re in Gozo and looking for a lovely meal with excellent views, great food and heartfelt service.

Well, we visited the place as 3. We ordered cheese burger, fried calamari, salmon fillet and Bella Emila pizza. My burger was quite dry and meat was not minced properly. It was contanining much sinewy. Pizza ingredients were tasteful but dough was not coocked well so yeast smell was left in the dough. Salmon was good but fried calamari portion is a bit small if you compare to the prices. Generally i found prices so high but taste was not as high as prices. I especially put a red flag to the hamburger. Staff was very smiling and gentle except one women waitress. We waited our orders too long. The restaurant is in short-staff probably. We requested two extra coke and waited too long. Our food finished in the meantime . Probably Coke zero was not filled from can but from pre opened bottle because acid level was quite low. They should not serve cokes as soon as they take orders because it will be like juice till your food comes. Atmosphere and the location of the restaurant was perfect but its a restaurant that we will not visit again.

Good but… Lack of service, with more attention towards the guests I would have gave a higher review. Unfortunately the service lacked a lot of attention. I was in a group of 3 people and we constantly had to ask for basic things like they served us starters and cutlery were not on the table. They brought as drinks and one of us was without a glass and had to ask 3 times to 3 different people, it’s a shame because the food is not too bad, the portions are good and the price is fair. A lot of young people serving and they have not attention to details, especially the young girl. Perhaps having a more senior staff member supervising would be a good idea as the difference between the attention given to the locals or the tourist was immense. Before I forgot , make sure you order your dessert on time as unfortunately at 22.00 there was no chance to order a dessert, we asked the young girl and she came back saying there was no dessert at all. Shame :/

We had lunch here. The view of the bay is absolutely breathtaking — unfortunately, that’s the only highlight.

The food and service were very disappointing. We ordered ribs, chicken on risotto with peanut sauce, a beer, and a mojito. The server was distracted, talking to other guests while taking our order, so she wasn’t paying attention. We had to repeat ourselves, which already gave a bad impression.

The chicken was completely overcooked — dry and tough like shoe leather. The risotto and peanut sauce were tasty, but that couldn’t make up for the chicken. The ribs were a huge letdown: the meat itself had no flavor at all, just a honey BBQ sauce that tasted fine but disappeared immediately. Some Rub is missing. For the price, they were absolutely not worth it.

The dish was supposed to come with fries and a chose of salad or vegetables. We took both but we were served two salads instead. Both portions of fries were cold, and to make matters worse, there were no wet wipes or anything similar for the ribs.

The mojito was a joke — taste like pre-made syrup mixed with water and mint leaves, way too sweet, and no brown sugar. The beer was the only thing we actually enjoyed.

Amazing view, but with food and service like this, we won’t be...

Certainly! Here’s a rephrased version of the review with subtle differences:

Steer Clear of Churchill Restaurant in Gozo - An Absolute Catastrophe

We were a party of ten eagerly anticipating a pleasant evening, but our experience at Churchill Restaurant in Gozo was nothing short of a nightmare. Right from the outset, things went wrong. We were met with unclean tables and a floor that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.

The staff treated us with complete disregard, showing a blatant lack of respect for their customers. Our orders were botched not once, but three times, which is beyond disappointing. When the food eventually arrived, it was a disaster. The so-called "Seafood" not only looked unappetizing but also tasted terrible.

We tried to raise our concerns about the dreadful quality of the food and decided to take a look at the kitchen. What we saw was appalling – the filth in there was enough to make anyone lose their appetite.

To top it all off, when we brought these issues to the manager's attention, we were met with nothing but arrogance. He flat-out ignored our complaints and insisted that we pay €179 for a meal that was utterly inedible.

A word of advice: Stay far away from Churchill...
