To clarify my review I have to sketch the full story, but long story short, the lady of the house was rude, so we left before having anything.
My husband had a little accident opening the stroller when we parked the car, he had a deep cut in his thumb and he almost passed out. We looked up a pharmacy and found the nearest at 10 min drive, but because he needed a toilet and we all came to the bay for food, we left our plans for a specific restaurant and we went inside the first one we saw, Mobydick bar.
I went inside to explain what had happened and to ask if they had a bandage, my husband went to the toilet and my brother and daughter already took a seat on the terrace to look at the menu.
The waiter was really attentive and helped me the best he could with the only 🩹 he had, even though it was probably too small for the large and deep cut, I thought it would have done the job so I asked a scissors to help my husband at the table.
At this moment the lady of the house who was eating at a table behind me intervened and cut a very large piece of the 🩹 clearly very annoyed, I asked her friendly if I could cut a smaller piece at our table and she explained me it was not possible since it was part of the bar and for hygienic reasons. Because she clearly wasn't pleased with my request I asked her why she was mad at us, she replied that it was not their job to help us. That's where I immediately decided we wouldn't stay to have food or drinks there, took the 🩹 anyway and left.
Because I was a little shocked with what had happened, I was even more in shock with her manner of handeling the situation.
Again, the other staff was friendly and attentive, she just didn't show any empathy for our situation and that's why we left.
We ended up in the Boathouse, where all staff was very friendly, and it was delicious. So for those of you who made it to the end of our review and still unsure where to eat... Take this as a...
Read moreTerrible experience at Moby Dick Restaurant in Xlendi, Gozo yesterday. We arrived at 1:30PM as per our booking, and ordered drinks and wine shortly afterwards. After half an hour a young waitress turned up with the bottle of wine but realised our tables were not yet set - we had no side plates, glasses or napkins, only cutlery. Ten minutes later we were finally served our wine, together with a bowl of bread, but since we had no side plates we could not eat it. A full hour after sitting down my friend and I went in the restaurant to bring side plates and napkins ourselves, and instead of being offered an apology we were simply handed the plates and napkins by a very arrogant middle aged waitress! We then had to content ourselves with the bread for another hour before our food turned up, a full two hours after sitting down. Mind you even this wasn't done properly: three of the people in our group were not served up to twenty minutes after the rest of us received our food and resorted to cancelling the order and sating themselves with the left overs of the other people at table. Their food did eventually turn up, served by the rude middle aged waitress, who simply turned round and walked back to the kitchen when we told her the food order had been cancelled because it had taken too long, without even offering an apology. When confronted, the manager's feeble excuse was that of too many people turning up at the same time and therefore leading to too many orders pending in the kitchen - evidently this restaurant is biting off much more than it can chew and should reduce its number of covers for it to cope with the demand. Until then, avoid this establishment...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Moby Dick Restaurant in Xlendi, Gozo, and it was an exceptional experience. Nestled along the picturesque Xlendi seafront, the restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements its stunning coastal views.
The menu is a delightful fusion of Mediterranean and Maltese cuisines, featuring an impressive array of dishes to suit all palates. We began with the seafood platter, a generous assortment of fresh mussels, prawns, and calamari that was both flavorful and impeccably presented. For the main course, the grilled swordfish stood out—cooked to perfection and accompanied by a tangy caper and tomato sauce that enhanced its natural flavors. The pizza selection is also noteworthy; the 'Pizza Moby Dick' with its unique combination of toppings quickly became a favorite at our table.
Service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring that our dining experience was seamless from start to finish. The ambiance is both relaxed and elegant, making it an ideal spot for any occasion, be it a casual lunch or a special dinner.
In addition to its culinary offerings, Moby Dick also provides well-appointed holiday apartments, making it a convenient choice for travelers looking to stay close to the beach and local attractions.
Overall, Moby Dick Restaurant offers a memorable dining experience that beautifully captures the essence of Mediterranean hospitality and cuisine. It's a must-visit destination for anyone...
