Il-Kċina Għawdxija — Restaurant in Munxar

Sat down for a drink (2 beers), waitress was happy to provide shade with parasol and quick to take our order. This is where the good service stops. After drinks arrived the waitress came over pushing us to know if we wanted lunch, after saying we weren't hugry but would have more drinks she turned on us; "we need you to move on quickly because we're losing money on the table for lunch orders". Then waitress acted like a hover fly keeping visual tabs on how much drink we had left. Bought the bill over, didn't ask us again if we wanted any more drinks. My empty glass was quickly collected by a different waiter.

At no point had she told us we couldn't just order drinks, we weren't sure if we wanted to order food so asked for drinks only after being treated in this manner.

There were 4 other tables empty for an entire hour which were "reserved" but no one showed up to these tables. Many others came and went. Shame because the nearby other places were friendly.

Waitresses appeared to be very rushed with orders, although wanted to push for as many covers as possible. We understand its October and not peak season, but they could have just gone about the table in a more polite manner, we'd have happily gone elsewhere had they've told us tables are for food only...

I went there few hours ago, I asked for a rib eye medium cooked. It came this piece of meat you can see on the photo below. Was definitely pork! Anyone who knows just the basic of gastronomy can realize. Then I spoke to both ladies there, they were looking so surprised even if they could see from the color of the meat that is not beef. They brought me another one after 25 mins (how much time needs a medium rib eye?? restaurant had with 1 table more) I tried again, was exactly the same just more cooked. I had one bite and I told them was the same. I don't know if is their fault or the supplier's but whoever they call "chef" should understand!! And of course they charged for it even if they already changed it once and the second time was the same and i barely touched it! Both ladies were very...

Nice view, fresh and delicious dishes. Octopus was one of the best I had ever tried. Melting in your mouth, nice spices… This restaurant is located in Xlendi bay. The staff is amazing and so friendly, food is great, delicious ,and big portions, we were there more than once… I took the fresh lamb and it was to die for. It was served with freshly fried fries which as also good… If you like to taste some Gozitan food, this is the place. It’s exactly on the sea edge. Food is good, prices are reasonable… Fantastic restaurant, open air and covered seating, right on the water in Xlendi bay. Superb service, friendly staff & the food was excellent… Had an excellent meal tonight with delicious mussels. Also beautiful position looking across...
