If you're walking past this place, stop in, to pass it by would be a grave mistake. Picture this, sunset on our last day of holiday, a view of xlendi bay and excellent service from the wonderful Ian and his colleagues. Osso Bucco with a succulent sauce and bone marrow. PERFECTLY cooked octopus and risotto Nero. The food was to die for and not a rip off for price either! The service was so good that the second I finished my sparkling Maltese wine, they refilled it! Bread and digestifs on the house certainly didn't hurt either. We did this at the end of the Mgarr to Xlendi hike but I would travel to Xlendi just for this! Best in the bay, I can say that without trying the others because I can't imagine better.

I'm rambling on now, but really, back in the UK you would be paying quadruple the price for this quality of food and service, you're on holiday, treat yourself...

Yeah, decent, but not great. Reading the other reviews, I’m wondering why people wrote such high accolades. Must have low standards? They served bread? You’re going to give 5 stars for that? Ok.

For the first 40 minutes of the meal we were forced to listen to some obnoxious female employee talk nonstop at the bar, we were seated pretty far away from the discussion, and yet I couldn’t even speak in a normal tone to my dining partner. Also, hey let’s upgrade the Spotify to a paid account so we don’t have to listen to broadcasted commercials?

Caprese salad was flat, and yeah tomatoes are out of season right now, but why is it on the menu? Seafood alla vodka, also tasteless.

Would have chosen another spot, but everything else in...

The food is wonderful, the drinks are wonderful. The only issue is that it is 80 degrees with sun beating down amd no wind at 3:30 p.m., and they refuse to open the umbrellas. They said we would have to eat inside if we want shade...so odd when the prime real estate is the actual boardwalk and the view of the harbour. This is the reason all of the lesser quality restaurants nearby were fully booked...outdoor seating in the shade. Zafiro must not want a lot of business, so many people commented on the lack of shade as they walked away instead of being seated. The manager told me that the people across the patio didn't want shade, but our umbrella was nowhere near them and wouldn't have impacted their view or their sun....

Five stars for the food, atmosphere and humanity. I ordered fried Lampuki and it was so simple yet delicious. I hate it when people take pictures of their food, but I wish I did in this case because it was like a sculpture. The bread they bring you is also incredible, which is rare. The atmosphere of being in the habour and tucked in the corner is so nice. Every other restaurant is a constant chaos and walking path by the bay. Lastly, there is a sweet black & white kitten that lives there. A table near me was mean to her and the manager defended her existence, which was so heartwarming. At the end of the night, me and the kitten had bellies full and watched the sun set together.
