Little Argentina — Restaurant in Sliema

We visited Little Argentina as a family of five and had high expectations given its reputation as a steakhouse. While the food itself was enjoyable, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor service and an unsatisfactory approach to steak preparation.

We called ahead at 21:30 to confirm if we could still dine, as they closed at 22:30. They assured us it was fine, and we arrived at 21:40, placing our order at 21:50. Despite this, the service felt indifferent from the start—our waiter never smiled or made any effort to be welcoming, which is surprising for a restaurant in a tourist-heavy location like Malta.

We ordered a 600g ribeye, requesting it medium. While the center was indeed medium, the edges were well-done. When we raised this with the waiter, we were told it was "impossible" to cook the steak evenly and that doing so would take an hour. For a steakhouse, this response was unacceptable. A skilled chef should know how to properly cook a thick cut of meat, whether through reverse searing or other techniques. Dismissing our concern rather than offering a solution was disappointing.

Despite enjoying the food, the lack of professionalism in service and the poor handling of our steak experience left us dissatisfied. With better service and more care in cooking, this could be a great spot, but unfortunately, our visit fell short of...

WORST “MEAT” RESTAURANT EVER! I can not believe how they even still open to be honest. I asked medium flap steak because waiter told me that one would be tenderest. It came “well” not medium and it was super salty like really… After that I explained my inconvenience about the meat to the another waiter. He misunderstood and he understood that I dont want puree/sauces instead of SALT! Because i have hypertension. Anyway it came 2nd time not salty but “Rare” with all the blood and chewy. So I shoked and explained him again… So 3rd time my steak arrived and it was even saltier than my first stake!!! And then I left the restaurant and my friend stayed there to pay but eventually they did not charge us. That was the only nicest thing that happened...

Don’t usually leave reviews but this was a complete joke. Me and four of my friends went for what we thought would be a nice meal on our last night of our holiday. Waited an hour and 20 mins for our food and when it finally came my 600g sirloin was really overcooked and well done when I asked for it medium rare. Got lied to many times about how long food would be. When I got the second steak I was made to eat quickly as they closed not long after I finally got the steak they cooked off after the one they cremated. Staff were rude and unapologetic. Our bill was €240 and the waited rather hilariously said my portion of €4 potatoes( that also took 1hr 30 mins) were on the house. Got €4 off the total bill in the end with no apology....
