Europa — Hotel in Sliema

This is the first time I am writing a negative comment! The room I prepaid and received had nothing in common with the room I booked through booking. I had booked and prepaid 14 nights for a room with two single beds, but got a room with one narrow double bed. The doors and walls in my room were collapsing. The air conditioner is old and constantly shuts itself off at night, every half hour, and I was very cold. The collapsing balcony is constantly flooded and in water. The sink in the very narrow bathroom is constantly clogged. The walls and doors of the room are falling apart. It was very noisy from the neighboring rooms because the walls are like cardboard and I couldn't sleep properly one night out of my 14 nights!!!In my room, behind the wardrobe, there was another door to the room next to me, which is very strange. The elevator was broken and not working for half of my stay. Also one day there was no power in the electrical outlets in my room. I told the receptionist about the problem and she offered me to charge the mobile phone at her place because they were going to fix the electrical sockets the next day, which is very minor. There is only one European power outlet in the room. The TV is like a small monitor. I am only very satisfied with the maids and cleaning staff, as well as the Asian girl at breakfast and her assistants...

I chose the worst stay ever. Firstly, few days before the stay I asked them for Iron box. Since 4 days we were staying there they never found the iron and everyday they said they will definitely give tomorrow. Secondly, the rooms were very close and suffocated ones, very bad beds, unhygienic also 1 bed was broken. Third, the rooms are so near and the walls are not good enough for noise. People were just laughing talking the whole night. They were playing music with full volume and whole night I could hear a couple doing with full noise of bed and screams... it was really disgusting. Even if you talk slowly next door and upper floor can hear you. Fourth, they have no good security, the keys can be used for any other rooms. We met with such incident, where 3rd floor boys were drunk and opened our door from out with their key which was on 2nd floor. Fifth, everyday there is same pathetic breakfast menu. Scrambled egg was so bad and watery. Same food everyday even after paying so much. Overall worst stay experience ever. I would recommend to not book this hotel. I stayed for 4 days and every night I used to feel irritated and suffocated to go back to the hotel...

I stayed in december and for a 2 star hotel it was pretty basic like expected, clean, tidy, working shower, comfy bed, basic breakfast and great location, however for what i paid to stay for 7 nights, it would of been nice to have friendlier reception staff, on arrivial i was told i was too early & to go away until 3pm, i came back just before and was told i told you to come back after 3pm not before! There was no tea/coffee facilities, when i asked i got a blunt reply kitchen is closed, a kettle in the room would of been nice. I knew i'd booked an economy room so no view which was fine but there was an adjoining door to the next room which was noisey & i could hear everything and was woken a few times by the people in there trying to open the door and being on the 5th floor the wifi didn't work at all & sometimes the room was quite cold and the a/c until didn't work when you put it on heater. If i hadn't paid double what is normally charged for this hotel i would leave more stars with my only complaint being the adjoining door in the room.Would i stay here again probably not. Big shout to the cleaning staff tho, very friendly, always...
