The Tiffin Box — Restaurant in Sliema

I stumbled across this Indian restaurant by chance whilst in the shopping mall, but ended up visiting twice during my recent stay in Sliema.

Both times I ordered the chicken kadai, which is €12.65 including rice. Curry was excellent and one of the best I've had for a long time. Choice of strength (mild, medium, hot) was offered too. The portion was large, with plenty of chicken both times but presented slightly differently on each occasion.

You order at the counter, then they bring the food over to you. Staff friendly. The shopping mall also had a live singer when I visited on Saturday evening.

I'll definitely visit this restaurant next time I'm back in Malta.

Only criticism: the prices of drinks aren't displayed anywhere (or at least not clearly enough that I didn't notice them at all). Turned out it was €2.75 for a bottle of...

As a tourist in search of halal food I went out of my way to this place. At first, the owner/staff was very nice. However, when it came time to pay I mistakenly had said the wrong order. When I tried to clarify, the owner turned sour and said it would be too much of a hassle to return (I had not even paid yet)

The owner/staff wanting me to just pay whatever and them grumbling to charge me the CORRECT amount was very troubling for me. Would not recommend this place for that reason.

Additionally, as we were eating, someone came by to ask if the fish was halal. The owner said yes. The person asked if the chicken and beef is as well and the owner said yes. The person confirmed fish is halal and the owned said yes. This was towards the end of my meal but concerned me. You'll understand if you are aware of halal meat on why. Make of that...

We went there to eat for lunch today unfortunately the server told us we can't do the service we are busy that was the answer. We saw they were preparing the food for take-away / photoshoot but when we asked to take our order they deny to take the order completely as we came from far away for our dine-in foodcourt. Even not mentioning the food might be delay if you are ordering or anything.

Shame on management, Never again "THE TIFFIN BOX" poor management, ridiculous customers care service. Worst experience ever!!
