It was my first time visiting Machu Picchu Restaurant, and overall the experience was good.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. However, it was a bit too salty for my taste though thatâs just a personal preference. My dish, the octopus and seafood with rice, had great flavors and creativity, but I felt there were too many components, textures, and flavors competing with each other. The main ingredients got a bit lost, making the dish feel slightly overwhelming.
The service was very good overall friendly and attentive. However, I could notice a difference between the more experienced servers and the newer ones. At one point, our server kept insisting we take the bread even though we hadnât ordered it, and our meals had already finished. I understand that some of the servers are foreigners and might still be learning, but it was a bit frustrating having to repeat our order to make sure everything was understood correctly.
The biggest disappointment of the night was the passion fruit cheesecake. Itâs usually a safe and popular dessert, but this one was unfortunately borderline inedible. The passion fruit topping was extremely sour and overly sweet at the same time, making it unpleasant to eat, and the cheesecake itself was far too runny more like melted ice cream than cheesecake.    Read moreThe food here was absolutely amazing â delicious from start to finish and full of authentic Peruvian flavors. We shared three starters and they were all excellent. The mains were just as impressive, from the perfectly seasoned beef to the rich and authentic Peruvian pasta sauce. Portions are generous and very filling. The dessert was also a lovely finish, and the cocktails were beautifully made and very professional.
The restaurant itself is designed very nicely, donât be put off by the location...as once inside itâs cozy and stylish enough to forget the outside view. Parking was also easy, with several spaces just opposite.
The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. They were happy to explain dishes we werenât familiar with and made sure everything was served on time and with care.
Highly recommend!
My only small feedback would be the music: while the Italian classics were nice, it would add to the atmosphere if they played more traditional Peruvian music to fully...
Read moreThe best Peruvian restaurant in Malta!
We are regular customers of Machu Picchu in the food court at Plaza shopping centre. And we recently found out Machu Picchu opened a restaurant in TaâXbiex. ďźwe were told it opened three months ago)
We visited the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon just to avoid the crowds. We were amazed by the environment and atmosphere in the restaurant, premium interior design with Latin music playing.
The food was beautifully presented and the taste is even better than what we had in Machu Picchu in the food court. We had a wonderful dining experience at the restaurant.
We want to try more dishes and weâll bring our family and friends to come and enjoy the great taste of delicious Peruvian cuisine and the relaxing chill atmosphere here.
Keep the good vibes...
