I was in Valletta with my friends and we were looking for some place for a lunch before our airplane so we choosed this one. The meals were good, not the best we ever had but good and I would probably give an 4 star review if the service was a bit more nice. When we first came in, a few seconda before us there was a group of 8 women who came for a lunch as well. Since we were in bit of hurry we wanted to order as soon as possible and when we asked to do that the waiter told us he will first serve them cause they came earlier (which is fine but it was like we came at the same time really and we are ready to order, so I don't se a problem or importance). Then I tried (and I mean I tried cause he interrupted me not letting me even finish my sentance) to ask how long will it take, just so we can see if we will be able to sit and have lunch, and the waiter answered rudely and annoyed that this is not the fast food and the food does not come so quickly, when I said I get it and wanted to explain to him why is important for us to know he interrupted me again several times saying the same thing. First of all we did not want to be demanding or anything like that, we just wanted to know how long do we have so we can choose ar we gonna stay or leave. Second we were offended by the way he talked to us and how he probably assumed since we were group of young people we are not usually visiting restaurants so he tried to tell us how it works like we are idiots. And last thing, when we asked if he could give as an ashtray, he brought it and said, I quote: "There. Happy?" So yeah. It was on 18th of March 2023, around 13:00-14:00. The waiter was older guy. The other one was nice. Too bad he only...
Read moreWe visited Alexander’s twice, once for cocktails and then again for dinner the following day. The first time we sat outside and enjoyed very reasonably priced cocktails for the area, with brilliant views and a powerful fan that kept us cool. We liked it so much we decided to come back for food.
For our starter, we shared the Alexander Platter which had lots of tasty little bites. The only thing we’d change would be having 2 or 4 portions of each item, as that makes sharing easier. For mains, I had the Zizka Pasta and my partner had the Maltese pasta, both were delicious, but the Zizka Pasta was especially worth it. We also had two more Hurricanes cocktails, as we had enjoyed them so much the night before.
A lovely touch was when the gentleman behind the bar kindly offered us a complimentary taste of the Prickly Pear liqueur. We hadn’t tried or even known much about the fruit before, and he took the time to explain it to us. It was a really nice experience and definitely memorable....
Read moreImpolite waitress and waiter. We were 8 and wanted to get drinks quickly and we were treated quite random and not let to sit at two connected tables unless we eat with a bad excuse. For a group of 8 people, we had to sit at 3 different tables, which is something that I never encountered in any other place in this world. Paying by card meant that we needed to go to the bar and they did not want to bring it to the table while there were only 5 tables for 2 waiters.
A quick mention: we actually wanted to eat here but the service was too lousy. Another note is that while we sat, in this rest there were around other 10 people in total for the whole hour, so technically our table would have brought around half of the profit if we wouldn’t have been treated...
