So. There is an enormous, enormous amount of weaponry and armour on display here. If there is a sort pf weapon used from the late medieval or early modern period, I suspect they have it here. Every kind of polearm is separated and lovingly described in the audioguide. The evolution of the early firearm can be traced in every one of the its stages. Artillery take up the back of the hall from the almost comically tiny to the enormous. The armour section is equally full. Maille, plate amd even some brigantine armour! The audioguide has over 100 entries and is exhaustively detailed. If weapons and armour are not your thing avoid this. If they are, it is a must see!

Armoury was good. Sadly all the dagger and broadsword exhibits were missing due to restoration. The ticket price was reduced presumably because of this. However the biggest let down was the purely miserable staff. Not a single smile, we felt as welcome as dog poo. As a family on holiday paying to visit their attraction a welcome would have been nicer.. in fact we actually got told to leave as they were closing the shop It was 4.40pm so I guess the 5pm as advertised was our misreading. I put back everything I had planned to purchase as the lady was quite cross for some reason. Worthy a visit for the armoury but don't expect a warm welcome here!

For only €6 euros to get in, this is a must see. There are two great halls to visit; the first one deals with the different types of swords and armour. The second hall, goes into detail on everything from pistols, rifles and full sized canons. This is a generalised description of the item; whilst the audio guide gives their proper names. For instance, in one hall, the whole of the wall space is covered with pikes. Yet, not one audio description refers to them as that. Also note that several of the displays, have the same numbers; this is because the collections are so massive.
