Brasserie Chic — Restaurant in Isle Mauritius

My wife and I had a very disappointing dinner at Brasserie Chic. The starter options were extremely limited and uninspiring. nothing stood out, and what we ordered lacked flavor and creativity.

We were especially looking forward to the venison, which is supposedly their signature dishes, but it was a complete letdown. The meat was chewy and overcooked, making it nearly inedible that we ended up leaving almost half the plate.

When we raised our concerns with the waiter, she simply said it was the first complaint they’d received and left it at that. No apology, no offer to make it right. For a hotel with such a reputation, this level of food and service is unacceptable. We won’t...

Disappointing. A shame, really. I used to make business appointments there as it was a convenient location, with parking, etc. Unfortunately, my last two visits (including Yuzu, which is supposed to be upscale) were disastrous. Wait times way too long, poor quality of food : don't ask for a rare filet steak (laughingly duminutive).., cold french fries, stale spring rolls, etc. The cook even refused to serve us 'bananas flambées', even though they were on the menu, because it's too much effort, I guess. The waiters seemed down and clearly indicated that the kitchen was 'running the show'. Even the wine by the glass was substandard for the lofty prices. Avoid...

The food is fine, but the service is terrible.

We came as a group of 10 people for dinner with kids. After asking four times to turn on the heaters on the terrace (it was a cold and windy evening), it took one hour for a technician to finally arrive. However, after a few unsuccessful attempts to get the heaters working, no one came to explain what was going on. We all, including my five-year-old daughter, suffered from the cold wind, but none of the staff apologized to us.

Additionally, we waited 45 minutes for our order (burgers), and one of the ordered cocktails never arrived.

Such a shame for a five-star...
